  8472 - a quick look

Well, I found out how the motor works which is the main reason I bought the set. As Huw Millington rightly pointed out, it relies on the integrated battery and motor "lump" with the reversing switch on the top. The forward/reverse action is (...) (22 years ago, 9-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

  8461 vs 8458

I completed 8461 today, and can now summarise the differences between it and 8458. The obvious difference is of course the use of a new style of panel. There are two sizes, in left and right, of course. Their designated panel numbers (for those that (...) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

  RE: Steering Instructions

Umm? There are actually only 2 specialised parts - the CV joint and the 3 pin hub with steering arms - (of which you need 4 of each) in the mechanism that arn't "commonly" available in other sets. The rest of the mechanism is universal joints, new (...) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Steering Instructions

(...) I'm sorry to say that I don't think that having the manual itself is going to help much. The 8466 achieves 4wd and steering by using some very specialized parts. You can't easily achieve the same effect using elements from other sets. Fredrik (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

Or just the 8466 manual - a number of sets have been parted on BrickLink recently and the manuals are about $4 to $6 regards William -----Original Message----- From: news-gateway@lugnet.com [mailto:news-gateway...net.com]On Behalf Of Fredrik (...) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

Strictly for laughs: (URL) the question: what do you do with last year's model of Bionicle?   Re: Steering Instructions

(...) I think that the easiest solution is to buy an 8466, which has four wheel drive and front wheel steering, in addition to many other functions. I also like the 8459 Front Loader, which implements four wheel drive and steering in a different (...) (22 years ago, 7-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)
