Princess Leia up close and personal —Shiri Dori
Hi guys! I just snagged a RR minifig pack, and within it I found a free lego-club application. <yawn> Usually at this point I toss it out (I'm already subscribed, pretty worthless though). So what caught my attention? On the front cover, a close-up (...) (25 years ago, 27-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) Here you go: (URL) you click on the thumbnail, you'll see a much-enlarged picture. Note the delicately-drawn eyelashes, I love them! And the hair is fab! -Shiri (25 years ago, 27-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Shiri Dori

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Chris Maddison
(...) Just another example of those great quality heads in the SW line. -Chris (25 years ago, 27-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Shiri Dori
(...) Exactly. I've yet to see one that I didn't like. -Shiri (25 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Greg Majewski
(...) I have, and his name is Jar-Jar, but I guess he doesn't count :) Greg Majewski (URL) (25 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Shiri Dori
(...) He said heads, heads! I don't think we can call that, that-- *thing*-- Jar-Jar has on top of his shoulders a head... :-) -Shiri (25 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Chris Maddison
(...) Aye, that abomination and waste of plastic is NOT a head. I honestly don't know what it is, but a head it is not. Lucas should have scrapped Jar-Jar from the get-go. -Chris (25 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Will Lutz
(...) When I first saw the movie I thought Jar-Jar was the worse character ever. Then I saw it a second and third and fourth . . . ah, you get the picture . . . time. Well Jar-Jar grew on me a little and I thought I could at least stand the guy. I (...) (25 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Jim Foulds
I have to agree with Will on this issue. Since Episode 1 came out, I have listened to all the negative comments that were said about it. I think Will summed up my opinion pretty well, except that I didn't mind Jar-jar. One thing I will add is that (...) (25 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Chris Maddison
(...) Aye, that's a good point. When all 6 of them are finally released (prolly in a big ol' 6-pack in 2005-6) I'll devote an entire day to sitting in my Den (hopefully by then I have one) and staying there from the first minute of Ep. 1 to the end (...)            Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Steve Bliss
(...) Huh? I don't remember this at all. Star Wars, AKA Star Wars IV: A New Hope, was one of the hottest movies ever, at the time it was released. People standing in long lines to see, many people seeing it repeatedly, etc, etc. In many ways, it was (...) (25 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Jeff Jardine
(...) Hello - I'm new. Here's my take on the matter: Jar Jar was kept in the film for the purpose of comic relief and making kids giggle. He had no relevance to the plot at all. That is what makes his presence different from the other films. In the (...) (25 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —David Low
(...) Hi Jeff -- good to hear from another SWLego/Lugnet Dark Ages escapee. theforce.net posited an interesting theory a while ago, in an attempt to answer the eternal question "Jarjar Binks -- why?" (URL) (25 years ago, 2-May-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Christopher Masi
Not a big fan of Jar-Jar in the movie, but then again he didn't bother me that much. I must say that I do like the LEGO Jar-Jar, or may I just like saying Jar-Jar Binks. It is a funny sounding name. Chris (...) (25 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Scott Edward Sanburn

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Andrew Summersgill
(URL) it just me or does the hair look like it doesn't fit properly? There's a huge great gap at the top of the poor girl's head right by her parting...!! Andrew. (25 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Shiri Dori
(...) I noticed that too. But it might just be that the people who set up the photo didn't attach it well... :-) -Shiri (25 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Princess Leia up close and personal —Dylan Reardon
Shiri Dori wrote in message ... (...) LOL! It looks like TLC managed to grab that very "I hate the world" look Leia had on her face during certain parts of the movies <g> Sardonically, DBR (25 years ago, 28-Apr-00, to lugnet.starwars)
