Was there a fuss when the Islanders showed up, and they were yellow? I'm
not entirely sure what racial group they're supposed to represent. Since
they're interacting with Pirates, they're probably not South Pacific
Islanders - but they sure look like them. Carribean natives? In any case,
they would likely be very dark brown in the 'real world'...but they were
LEGO yellow in the LEGOverse. (With, admittedly, weird makeup jobs)

| I'm sure the topic of race amongst mini-figures is an ancient one, but I just wanted to hear theories from the more informed AFOL's this time. I'm pretty sure TLG just wanted to circumvent any racial issues by making ALL the heads "yellow." There've (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)
