I always preferred the A-Wing in dogfighting for the Alliance.  It doesn't
have a large weapons array, but it's fast speed and super manueverability
always kept me alive the longest.

For the Imperial fleet I liked the TIE Defender the best.  The tractor • beam
was great for immobilizing your opponents and then blasting them with
aplomb!

Defender was one of the most valuable, but the best was the "Missile Boat".
It's top speed close to the one in defender, and it has tractor beam
(usually) and 40+xx load of warheads (xx: 15 for heavy rockets, 20 for
advanced torpedoes, 10 for heavy space bonmbs or 40 advanced missiles). It
even has a "turbo mode" which gives it a transient speed of two times its
max. Only thing that is sucking is its single barrell, slow loading laser
cannon. It is so perfect that cannot be true...:-)

Unfortunatelly both of the above are not éoriginal" from the movies, which
was the very first criteria of this thread, as I could understand.
