Re: Set 10131 Tie Collection —Bruce Hietbrink
I doubt it. The original TIE Fighter (set 7146) has 169 elements and the TIE bomber has 229 elements. I'm sure the Vader's TIE had fewer elements than the TIE bomber. This would leave over 116 elements for the fourth ship, which seems reasonable (...) (20 years ago, 26-Jul-04, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Set 10131 Tie Collection —David Laswell
(...) Mostly, except the only EU vehicle they've ever released. I'm wondering both what the deal was that they're supposedly not allowed to do EU ships, and what enabled them to get around it this time. I see three immediate possibilities for why (...)          Re: Set 10131 Tie Collection —Erik Boons
(...) I'm afraid the TIE/D won't be an EU ship any longer after the release of the DVD version of the Classic Trilogy... (...) ...I guess they added a TIE/D to the scene of the Trench Run in Episode IV. To this conclusion I came after looking at the (...) (20 years ago, 28-Jul-04, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Set 10131 Tie Collection —Dave Schuler
(...) Why not add some prominent Trade Federation Battleships to the EPVI fleet at Endor, while we're at it? And some AT-TE's to the Hoth landing? The trench run is fine as it stands, ship-wise. They can tweak the maneuvers, but the addition of new (...) (20 years ago, 28-Jul-04, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Set 10131 Tie Collection —Erik Boons
(...) I totally agree with you, mr. Schuler, it would be lame. Indeed, íf the TIE/D is added to the Trilogy, it would be like you said; another example of art-as-slave-to-marketing... ...In case my theory proves to be wrong, we can still cherish (...)          Re: Set 10131 Tie Collection —Jeramy Spurgeon
(...) There have even been rumors that the ending of ROTJ has been altered to put a "younger" looking Anakin in place of the one we are so used to (during the "ghost" scene with Yoda, OB-1, and Anakin). A few pictures were floating around, but have (...) (20 years ago, 29-Jul-04, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Set 10131 Tie Collection —David Laswell
(...) Lucas has something of a reputation for running disinformation campaigns specifically to keep people guessing about what might be true and what might not. Also, the internet has something of a reputation for being clogged with hoaxes. It's (...) (20 years ago, 29-Jul-04, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Set 10131 Tie Collection —David Laswell
(...) I would be perfectly happy if they are tossed into Ep3 as a "new" snub fighter (even though that's probably too early for them by EU history), or even if one gets spliced into Mos Eisley, but not if they get added to the X & Y-wings sent to (...)         Re: Set 10131 Tie Collection —Kyle D. Jackson
(...) Sorry, I had it mixed up in my head that the original Y-Wing/Tie set was around 700 pieces, so I figured it took about 300 for the T/A. Guess I had the numbers messed up. I guess it will be possible to get all 4 from 682 pieces, especially (...) (20 years ago, 27-Jul-04, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Set 10131 Tie Collection —David Laswell
(...) Huh? The TIE Fighter trim has actually been slightly improved, and the TIE/a trim is considerably better. The original TIE/f design didn't have the black 2x3 wedge plates to make it a true hexagon instead of an octagon. Instead, the 2x4 (...) (20 years ago, 27-Jul-04, to lugnet.starwars)
