I just want to say this:

When I saw the comic by Greg Hyland (sp?) on
http://www.fbtb.net/greg/gregindex.asp I saw Lando.  My non-discriminatory
imagination saw Lando.  Lego is an imaginitive toy - imagine whatever you
want and it will come true. Lego is right to have a one color minifig - it
allows us to imagine. Lego: A one race world where there is no hate because
of the way we look or Lego: A multiple race world where there is no hate
because of the way we look.

For those of you who are stubborn: TLG gave us a blank brown head in the
7146 for a reason... if you want a brown minifig, make one yourself.

Sick of this coming up again...

In short, there doesn't need to be the endless "shades" issue.  Brown plastic
minifigs can be introduced at a relatively easy/painless way.

Great points Leonard!!! I agree that the "endless shades" issue can be as
EASILY addressed in just TWO shades. Light and dark. Simple as that...
(Yellow and Brown....) I have been ranting about this in the NBA forum as of
late...

I seem to recall a question from the very enjoyable 2002 Brickfest "Q&A",
which was posed to Brad Justus (the Senior Vice President of LEGO Direct)...
The question (posed by a young Lego enthusiast) was something like "What
about Lando Calrissian and Mace Windu?"......... and the answer was "I Like
Them".

Then it was on to the next question.... (We didn't get any further than that
into the discussion....)

Chewbacca's minifig is Brown... as are the Ewoks... etc... Just PLUG IN THE
BROWN ABS!!! It's so EASY!!!

Thanks for the perspective Leonard!

Tommy, Chewbacca, the Ewoks, and the new PIG figure (coming in Jabba's
Palace sets) are all non-yellow but this is becuase they are all non-human!
So I do not think you can compare those figs to with the lando issue.

We must remember one thing.  LEGO IS A TOY!  When lego first introduced the
minifig, LEGO polled kids around the world asking what color the new minfigs
should be.  They (the kids) said yellow so I do not see what the problem is.

Oh wait I do, it is us (the adults) that are think of LEGO in "adult terms"
and inserting our politics, race isues, etc. into this lando issue.  Kids do
not care if lando is yellow, blue, pink, red etc.  To them lando is lando
and they do not care.  They will play with a red lando fig, he will sit in
the falcon as they re-enact the destruction of the dath star,  Or a big
lando will betray han solo at benspin.  You see my point? Let lando be yellow!

Read my original post about this issue that I wrote over 2 years ago.

(...) I take it you're against ewoks with short legs for the same reasons? And incidentally, we have non-yellow 'figs, and my imagination still seems to be in perfect working order. (...) I'm hoping that fig comes up in a cheaper (or better) 2003 (...) (22 years ago, 7-Oct-02, to lugnet.starwars)
