In fact, this same part is present in the Bionicle sets. Look at the chest of Lewa, Kopaka, and Tahu, and the under-arm on Pohatu. Given the great differences in set quality across the entire line of Star Wars Lego models, I don't see why there is such a big discussion over this particular set. If you look close enough, you'll see that the dark grey elements are 1x4x1 half thinwalls and these do not have studs on top. Therefore, the top (...) After close examination of the picture of these sets, I don't think they're too bad. I zoomed in real close on the Stormtroopers head, and zoomed out real far too, and the amazing thing is the more I looked at the pic, the more it looked like a (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Lego could've made some smaller quarter spheres, in two different sizes with printing for the eyes and mouth, and laid those over the front of the Stormtrooper head... that would have given it a more "realistic look" while keeping the parts (...)
