  $9.99 AT-ST

While I didn't use the Flash Speeder, I did just make an AT-ST with under 90 pieces and let me tell you, it looks like...insert 4 letter word here. Also, I don't have a scanner, so I can't post pics however, here's how I made it! Starting from the (...) (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  2001 Sets

By now most of us have seen the list of the upcomming Star Wars sets with their prices. (if you haven't yet don't go surfin' around our friends at Lego yanked them). My question is now that this information is not allowed to be posted, how much are (...) (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

All right, let's get to answering a REAL question: Why doesn't Lego put out a "Star Trek" line???!!! And if they do, I hope that green-blooded Spock is YELLOW! (Except, of course, for his blue uniform shirt and black pants.) Long live Lego! (...) (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) Probably not. I think that LEGO has been going by a rule that normal HUMANS are all yellow. Maul is not a human, and Vader is no longer a normal human. Jar Jar is tan because he's not human. Chewie isn't human either. The Emperor, who (...) (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Where Brooklyn at? (Was: racial politics, black pack, etc.)

(...) As far as I can tell human "race" is as meaningless in the SW universe as it is in Legoland. There are plenty of references to the differences between alien species and humans, and even some references to different human cultures, but there's (...) (...) Hey, or maybe it was a misplaced decimal? UCS AT-ST for $99.99, anyone? (I'm not mocking you, by the way, in fact, I say you're most likely right or pretty close to it.)   re: 2001 set info

You guys are all saying that the new atst is going to suck because it is only $9.99, but a at-st at that price isn't even feasible. Could it be that there was a cut off at the begining of the price? I'm only a kid so I might be like totally wrong (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) Right on. I'd suggest they are delving in WAY too much. Suggesting that TLG make different coloured heads to represent "black heroes" in minifig form is imposing foolish Western Hemisphere PC politics upon a company based in a place that is (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Put the issue to bed (was: who's feelin the black pack?)

(...) And this is the problem with licensing movies, books, etc. If the main character is to be "acurately" represented, there must be "colored" minifigs. This has not been done with Star Wars to date. Luke Skywalker (as seen in the movies) is not (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) Nonsense! They clearly represent indivual characters. Whether they represent the races of the actors who portray those characters is debatable.   Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) No one here is suggesting that ABS is flesh or that minifigs are real people, but to assert that the Luke, Leia, Han, et al minifigs do not represent a particular group is flatly incorrect. Dave! (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

Blah blah blah. I'm an Asian-American--which means I'm "yellow." So his whole time, Lego minifigs have been Asian-American. Right? Give me a break. Unlike flesh, the ABS plastic used to make Lego is specifically-colored--NOT gradients of other (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)
