Great site on Lego photography and doing special effects.

(URL) sure some here have seen this site before, as it was a Cool Lego Site of the Week about 4 years back, but due to its great utility I decided to repost it. I hope to implement these techniques when I get a digital camera (I have new MOCs to (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space)

What is this? An update for the DAC Sector?

Hi Starshippers... I am back from my extended absence and am working toward restarting my playing and my sector...I am working on the website stuff now. I have built a few new ships in the same boxy style I have grown accustom to... Richard, I (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Heh, thanks Andrew. You should've come to Brickfest, that mech and an Inquisition fighter were both on display. I built the mech the day before brickfest, and I think it came out remarkably well for one day's effort. I haven't gotten around to (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: ci maximum

(...) Exxxcellent. And, a good reminder that I need to post the competitive air racer that I built - the AC Asp! .Steve "Attack life, it's going to kill you anyway!" (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Treadwell and Gonk Droids

(...) Neat droids. This post reminded me of Shaun Sullivan: (URL) Haven't heard from him or seen him post in a while, though... -Tim (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Land of the rising flava

Hi, all. (...) Yes, you're right Dan. Ken said that white flat stuffs are "SCHURZEN" of his battle ship. :-) They connect with brown ladder parts, and protect(hide) central mechanics at middle of body. (...) Yes. And white towers laid at the (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Land of the rising flava

(...) Thank you David, and you Paul. (URL) year, when I "invented" using helmet backward, I jumped and hopped on my bed again and again. :-) 'Cause I found it maybe the simplest and smallest "fish-ball-helmet". (...) No, sir. At least in my case. I (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Explorer

(...) Wow! Man, this is unbelievable! I drool for your spaceships! The floor of the main corridor - just brilliant! And that landing pad looks so much better in your Explorer than it did tooling around in my old Lego box :) Your spacecrafts are to (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Dan, Hey there. I still haven't had the opportunity (or at least managed the time :-P ) to look over this thing in its entirety but I wanted to take this moment to say this is an intriguing and promising theme you have begun. I commented on (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Treadwell and Gonk Droids

(URL) Two of the more common droids utilized inside the Echo Base are the Treadwell and Gonk (power) droids.> (URL) The WED Treadwell model is characterized by a flat, treaded base providing a low center of gravity with a spindly neck, cluster of (...)   Re: Why I kept my age a secret

When critiquing I try to do a few things, most importantly provide encouragment, for some people its a big thing to present their new MOC to the world. I try to gauge the level of the builder (which isn't really an age thing) from the tone of their (...)   Re: Why I kept my age a secret

(...) I reckon you're pretty fair with your critiques, Paul. But you're right, they can be difficult, mainly because one is always unsure how they will be taken. Here's what I reckon: If you want your work critiqued, ask for it, even to the point of (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.people.teens, lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Why I kept my age a secret

(...) Critiquing is tough. I've been giving ad-hoc critiques of almost everything for years and I still haven't got the hang of it... in fact, I often get the feeling that it has worked against my favour. I don't think I'd recommend it. Then again, (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.people.teens, lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Keppler Industies Update ( Yes, really!)

(...) Thanks John! My reasoning with the greys was dark grey was the greeblie machinery while the light grey is the big bulky support members of the frame and such. As for the microfig, I had planned to add more windows throughout to give it a more (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Why I kept my age a secret

snip (...) I think this important to note. I think alot of us, or at least myself, get stuck in a "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all" mentality. I will keep this in mind and try and do more critiquing... says the guy (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.people.teens, lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.castle)

Re: Why I kept my age a secret

(...) Maybe part of it was that .space is simply BIG. Maybe part of it was that I've split energies between models and the Starship game. I don't know. But I just didn't feel the warm reception others seemed to get. Don't get me wrong--I'm not (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.people.teens, lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.castle)

Re: Keppler Industies Update ( Yes, really!)

(...) /me delurks Awesome Kyle- it's nice to see that dead people CAN come back to life. And what a way. This is an awesome moc. I love it- I like the slight bluntness of the front, (although I agree that the red piece always makes me think that (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Keppler Industies Update ( Yes, really!)

(...) You're not the first to mention that. I mainly put it there because it was my last dark red part to use on this ship. I spose it is kinda a large concentration of color unlike the rest of the ship. Glad you liked it otherwise, thanks! -- Kyle (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Keppler Industies Update ( Yes, really!)

(...) This is a really beautifully rendered ship Kyle. The greebling and where it's put in particular is outstanding - I'm taking notes. When I saw the preview shot you released all that time ago, I thought it was going to be a minifig scale ship. (...) (21 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
