  Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) A shot to the head will do pretty much the same thing ;-) But seriously, it still need some powersource and a lot of logistics, I read somewhere that in Operation Iraqi Liberation, one of the problems were the to acquire enough batteries for (...)   Re: Outer Rim PortaPotty

This is good news for all the legomen allergic to babypowder, but soon they'll probably whine over that there isn't much space for the newspaper, and the chicks would probably demand a more social friendly version with mirrors and stuff. BTW what (...) (21 years ago, 30-Aug-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Tribute to Masamune Shirow

(...) You mentioned the small arms in the torso so I figured I'll point out that I modified them to look even more "Masamune Shirowish" recently. on some of his Landmates he has uses for those small arms such as holding weapons so I made it possible (...)   Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) I think I saw that briefly on Scientific American Frontiers a while back. Still, even if you were wearing full combat body armor with that strapped on top, all it would take was one shot to the battery to render it useless (and if they're able (...)   Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) I agree on the fact that, no groundforces are immune to mines, but regarding treaties, they only survive as long as politicians back them up and with regarding the mines, sorry, the bad guys still have them and won’t sign any treaty so they're (...)   Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) Yup and that's the difference of perspective, I talked about: You can't expect to have that kind of airsuperiority as it is now (unless you're an American), and if we're talking about aliens, well, space superiorty pretty much eats (...)   New MOC: Mining waldo

Hi folks, I should apologise again for my on-again-off-again building habits. Excuse of the moment is that my wife and I have just moved approximately halfway around the world, which has meant (a) I've been very busy with real life, and (b) that my (...)   Outer Rim PortaPotty

Hello, all. Sorry I haven't been around all that much- real life and stuff. But I've made up a small creation this night- the Outer Rim PortaPotty. (URL) tell me what you think. -JHK (21 years ago, 30-Aug-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: EBKD Korolev

(...) Yay! I got it to look like Eastern Block! :) (...) Thanks. Due to the size of the ship, interior pics are kinda lacking without gutting the whole ship open like a fish. When I take it apart in the future i might get beter interior pics. Rick (21 years ago, 29-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: EBKD Korolev

(...) Thanks. I wanted the armored look from the begining, and forgot that the Soviet era had those style things. Plus, the thruster pack is going to be redesigned, i don't know how yet, either with cones, your suggestion, or something else. Thanks (...) (21 years ago, 29-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: EBKD Korolev

(...) Thanks Keith. It's nice to know that the Eastern-Reich treaty is still strong and firm. With help from the ground power of the Reich, we can carve up all the galaxy. ;) Thanks for the things about the gaps and front. It's what I was aiming (...)   Re: EBKD Korolev

Overall a great ship! I love the bridge design with its navalish look to it. I also wil agree with a few of the other posters on the gaps and spaces- it gives the ship an armored look that was present during the high period of the Soviet era. I do (...)   Re: EBKD Korolev

The red gear did not go undetected. The Eastern-Reich Treaty of 04, and ships like the Korolev, we'll carve up the galaxy like Poland in 39'. As for the Korolev, I think its true to the EB theme, and the much maligned gaps don't trouble me at all. (...) (21 years ago, 29-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SHOTTLE!

(...) Did you wash the Goo Gone off afterwards? I do (by hand with a tiny amount of dish soap, though glass-cleaner will also work) because I don't like the slick oily feel, but I know that citrus-based cleaners will cloud the surface of ABS over (...)   Re: Tanks or Power Armor

(...) Half of that. 1000 pounds. Think "compact car", or 1/10th of a Hummer, if you prefer. Consider the various systems that would have to be strapped onto the pilot. You start out with a frame designed to fit around a human body. You'd need (...) (21 years ago, 29-Aug-04, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: EBKD Korolev

(...) The Korolev looks just like I would expect an Eastern Block frigate to look--kudos on hitting the theme really well. I really like the weapons array on the front, too. Not such a big fan of the thruster outlet, it just isn't nozzle-y enough (...) (21 years ago, 29-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SHOTTLE!

(...) I tried using Goo Gone and some other citrus-type remover, but I noticed the they often clouded the clear canisters up (I'm guessing that the citric acid in the remover eats away at the plastic surface slightly). The way I do it now leaves the (...) (21 years ago, 29-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: EBKD Korolev
