Rick,
What a cool ship! I like the hint of familiar, but clearly your own design. The
overall form and function seem to fit flawlessly.
And Id disagree with the first two posters about gaps and tiling the sides. I
like the armored look that the studs give it. Besides, if there are no studs and
no gaps, you could just vacu-form it from poly-styrene and save a bunch of money
right? We build with LEGO bricks for a reason.
What I DO think you could change if you chose was your number of neutral colors.
I really like the overall grey/red color scheme. And a few other neutrals are
ok. The white bits REALLY stand out though and seem disconnected from the
otherwise military EB look. There are a couple of spots I noticed where a thin
line of black changes to dark grey or light grey. Perhaps this is due to limited
piece, and thats a challenge I certainly still struggle with at home. Ive
always found that color schemes work best with one or two colors, one shade of
grey(including white), and black- especially if black is inset or represents
exposed functional components. But thats just me.
What you have is an excellent ship with a great line, especially the front
greebles and the bridge profile. You handle building a large ship well, and are
at least one up on me in that regard. Oh, and Classic Firemen torsos will always
be welcome in .space.
