  Re: Space Cargo Container Standard?

(...) Looks like a moonbase trailer park... :-) Actually, that's not a bad idea either. Why pack your belongings when you move? Just uncouple the module and transport the whole works. -Duane (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: P-38 Contest Entry: S/FB-12 "Lightning 2"

(...) Thanks for the compliments! I didn't mind the wing droop terribly, but it was due to a weak structure, not design, so I thought it best for the bricks to fix it. I might change that though. I first came up with the engine design a while back (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: That old set FEELING...

(...) Nah, I wouldn't flame you for that. It's easy to see the classic space through rose-colored glasses and I congratulate you at taking an honest, critical look at the sets. I remember when classic space came out. I really didn't know what to (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Space Cargo Container Standard?

(...) really liking the Moonbase attachment points on all four sides. (...) similar to the way I've seen truck/rail containers transferred. Also, it minimizes the height of the train so that it has less of a chance of hitting something while it is (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

Beautiful! Even though it's sub-minifig scale, it's an awesome creation. I like how it's suspended on the black stands, which is absolutely essential for such a fragile ship (only intended to be operated outside of a gravity well). (22 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

(...) In case anyone is wondering, the proportions of The Monolith are 1x4x9; not 1x2x4 as (URL) some knucklhead> once suggested. Dave! FUT OT.fun (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

(...) Just adding another Me Too. This was so stunning that I spent the last couple of days thinking about it to the point I dug out the movie and watched it again. I thought I'd point out that they do, in fact, refer to it as Discovery I at the (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

(...) oh my goodness, Jason, this is amazing, I'm sure you've heard it before, but I had to mention it. I almost think the sin of cutting a box wrench is worth it in this case. Thanks, George (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: The Slick Brick

Tony, You seem to have found that building wind. This racer is quite nice - both its studlessness and all the interactive features you built in - stuff like the lockers and the neato landing gear. I also enjoy the implied violence of the racing (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Modular Space MOC: Cargo Shunter

(...) "People call me... Tim" Tim, this is a nice little MOC - definately something I'd like to see buzzing around a moonbase cargo station. I have beef with the color, however. The yellow-red scheme is working for me, but the trans-neon-green (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: That old set FEELING...

(...) Don't forget your boy-ish good looks. ;o) -Lenny (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: P-38 Contest Entry: S/FB-12 "Lightning 2"

(...) I actually found the wing droop to be quite nice - a nice change of pace. Altho my eyes are getting acustomed to looking at studless creations, this design is nice. The engines specifically look very cool; a convincing use of the brown droid (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: That old set FEELING...

(...) True...nostalgia is a powerful factor in the reverence the old CS sets enjoy here, but for me anyway it's the concept of playablility that comes through in the design and basic construction of the sets that tweaks me more so than the actual (...)   Re: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

(...) I most certainly did. It would fit nicely with my planned next MOC - I am working on the designs for the LaGrange I space station from the very same movie. Yours, Christian Treczoks (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Space Cargo Container Standard?

(...) Hi, Over the weekend, I actually managed to rebuild a working model of my old space container system (including my enhancements) as promised. Pictures and short descriptions can be found at (URL). Yours, Christian Treczoks (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Space Cargo Container Standard?

(...) More pics of cargo space and rail elements : ) The modular cab & thruster assemblies rendevous with long-range hyperspace haulers in orbit above the moonbase and bring TEU's down to the surface. (URL) the surface, the TEU's are transferred to (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

  Re: That old set FEELING...

(...) ... (...) Save a spot for me up there dude. I like the old sets, but appreciate them more for their place in history than as models in themselves. I had the 924 as a kid, and could build it from memory. When I came out of my dark age 18 months (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.town)

Re: PP 1444 X, my P-38 contest entry

Ley this is a great ship. I really like the slide-open cockpit and arch-insets in the wings. Like Paul, I'm not feeling the P-38 vibe on this one, but it is cool nonetheless. The only aspect of the ship I didn't like was the drive-dingus that hangs (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: That old set FEELING...

<snip> (...) Tim, you better stop making me feel old. Sometimes I think it's these ABS bricks that make me feel younger than I really am... (granted, I'm not as old as some of the folks (Like Larry), but I'm up there with most of em, I'm sure... (in (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.town, FTX)
