I looked over this ship - first off, it reminds me of some of Nathan Well’s ships. Very unique shape, but, honestly, quite ugly. But this can be a good thing. Some of my favorite MOCs have been quite ugly, including several of my own. I think the main problem in your moc is the boxiness. A Box is the best way for a LEGO spaceship to maximize internal area while minimizing brick usage - but that route is dangerous.

For some inspiration, I’d recommend the works of:

Tim Deering

Dan Jassim

Jon Palmer

Mark Sandlin

JHKruer

Tim and JHK are especially good at getting good, interesting shapes without using 15,000 pieces. Mark has quite a few spaceships of particularly interesting design, including even out-right Boxy-weirdness (The Gazelle), and Jon and Dan are masters of color and especially how color affects the shape of your spaceship.

to sum up- this is a good start, and i’d love to see more!

The story behind the craft can be found on my MOCPages site.

I wanted to create a decent land vehicle to go with a spaceship, but I didn’t want the ship to be too big. So I made it modular.

This was my second attempt at creating a ship for these guys. The first looked like a brick vacuum with jets, so I destroyed it in disgust.

(...) I have to disagree here. In my experiece, unique shapes actually require fewer bricks but use more plates and elements. Unless you were talking about total peice count? (21 years ago, 1-Oct-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)
