Well, Khan attested the the destruction of one planetary body in a system
can shift the orbit of the remaining planets. Of course, Ceti Alpha 5 was
laid wasted and infested with disgusting, space ear roaches that turn you
into a helpless minion of genetically engineered despots bent on world
domination.
Then again, so does the Fox network.
