What does everybody think of Microfig creations?

I personally don't like them -- a minifigure scale model takes much more time
and effort -- and if you build one to scale, like my B-1B Lancer model is,
people will revere you, and worship you... (at least, for all the effort I put
into my B-1, I deserve something of that sort .. )

I personally love them
because they're so detailed and cost-efficient.

You can be detailed with a minifigure scale model.

With 3,000 assorted pieces,
you couldn't build a large ship in Minifig scale, but you could build a whole
armada in Microfig scale.  It seems to me that exterior detail on microfig
models far exceeds that of Minifig models.  I once tried to build a small
destroyer with my collection and it ended up smaller than some of the fighters
on sites like Marsbase and Bram's Space Creations.

Sometimes this is true ... but not always. If you are really good at making
microfig scale models, then yes, you can pull it off and make it better then a
regular minifigure scale model.

I broke it down and
managed to build a cruiser and dozens of smaller support ships for it in
Microfig scale.  Some people don't have the time, money, or space for 9-foot-
long battleships.  Why spend nearly $1,000 building one of these huge Minfig
creations that takes maybe a year or two to build when you could build a
smaller, more detailed version of it for $100 or less?

If you want to make microfigure scale models, go ahead. They won't be as
popular as somebody's "9-foot-long-battleship," but hey, they are yours.
Anyway, most people don't spend money on a new model -- usually, they buy or
get the pieces beforehand.

P.S. Does anyone have the link to Karim Nassar's Star Wars microfig lego
creations or Pallas Spaceworks?  I've tried several links that don't work and
am desperately searching for those sites.

There is a link to Pallas Spaceworks on that page.

(...) more time (...) You deserve worship? Maybe you could post some pics and we can decide if we want to worship you. ;^) ~Mark (24 years ago, 4-Apr-00, to lugnet.space)

(...) Ha. If you're building models for the popularity and admiration, you're doing it for all the wrong reasons. Ultimately, you will be disappointed. Cheers, - jsproat (24 years ago, 4-Apr-00, to lugnet.space) !
