Re: Warping in with a new MOC - the Mantaclaw

Wow, thanks Gil, I must say you are one of the best people around for feedback (and not because you speak so highly of my MOC). The best you've ever seen - wow! I completely understand this connection between the design and modern day machinery but (...) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Warping in with a new MOC - the Mantaclaw

Hey JHK, A masterpiece eh? Gee thanks :) Yeah I can't remember where the idea for the shape came from. But I remember drawing it and thinking "cool!". I was actuallt a bit scared when I stareted working with the off angles - I started off with (...) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: USS Okazaki NCC-1960 WIP

Wow, A huge Star Trek Lego ship that big in minifig scale would be really cool (and really challenging!). I look forward to following your progress and let us know as soon as you get some sketches up! Since we're on the subjects of Star Trek ships, (...) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Anyone going to Brickfest?

Yee-haw! This sounds really fun, and my parents say if I'm not in school, I can come :) I have'nt been before, so I hope it will be a great expierience. What kind of activities are there. I know there are like building rooms and such-but are there (...) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: whats going on with our BF-MB plans? (was Re: Anyone going to Brickfest?)

(...) Yes! As implied earlier this thread, I intend to bring my Power Plant Module (offering three connections to neighbors). I hope to build at least one more Module before August. The concept I have could work with any number of connections (...) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.events.brickfest)

whats going on with our BF-MB plans? (was Re: Anyone going to Brickfest?)

This message is open to everyone but is specifically targeted at those folks that were in the drawing room last year to develope the moonbase project. We had discussed a pretty large project for BF2k3. Adrian had plans to make a giant mountain base, (...) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: Anyone going to Brickfest?

(...) I have flown to fests twice, and had pretty good luck transporting MOCs in checked baggage. Strangely, they don't consider a cardboard box "adequete packing" so you may want to get a trunk or other piece of "luggage". You may also want to make (...)   Re: USS Okazaki NCC-1960 WIP

(...) No prob. There are a couple of formats that I can send to you for use as a graphic. EPS-usualy sharper, tho at the size of minifig torsos, that may not really matter. JPG-it's basically a photo. This one is good if you want a small file. (...) (...) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: USS Okazaki NCC-1960 WIP

(...) Um. Format? LOL. I'm sort of a computer luddite here, please bear with me :) (...) I've got that somewhere too. The only problem I had in laying out the ship was with the engine room ... I was reminded that a ship of the TOS movie era would (...) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: MOC Sparrow

Thanks guys. Though it isn't evident to me, I'm glad I have a distinctive style. That's really encouraging, Gil. By the way, I wrote some copy for The Sparrow at my site: (URL) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)
