Re: MOC: PE-1 Duster (seed part)

Coolness. Unfortunately, I have one other project I'm working on right now, so I won't be able to participate until January. I will tell you I love the amount of contests and other fun stuff that goes on around here :) -Anne (...) -- It might look (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Starship Hatch

(...) Hey, this really looks interesting. I'll have to try to build it to test it out. If it works (and I don't doubt it does) it looks like a great new door design. Good job. Chris <>< (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Space legends, my thoughts...

(...) This one time, at space camp... :) Well, I do have a fondness for certain specific sets of the past (the Futuron Stardefender, the SP1 PeaceKeeper, the Classic X-1 Patrol Craft, and most of the BT1 series). However, since I became more (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Image for #6711 Mini-Figure pack

Although my first love is the Pirate, Ninja and Castle themes, I also own over 60 Space sets. It is bricks we need to build our MOC's. But once the ships and planetary moc's are done, there comes the need to populate our worlds. I loved the mini-fig (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Space legends, my thoughts...

(...) They haven't thrown them away, per se, but worn-out molds are set in the concrete foundations of new Lego factories or other buildings--to prevent anyone from getting their hands on them. This was reported in the Smithsonian article in 1988. (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: MOC: PE-1 Duster (seed part)

That dark grey really does look nice when it's all together...this is my first model using it as the base colour. When saw it for the first time on one of Jon's Alphabet fighters (U, I think?), it really stuck with me. As the seed part was dkgray, I (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: MOC: PE-1 Duster (seed part)

Thanks for the kudos Jamie...very encouraging! It wasn't an easy part to use...it seems to be molded to be awkward. Inspiration for this one came from a couple places. The pod racers of SW EpI are evident in the design, but strangely enough the part (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: MOC: PE-1 Duster (seed part)

(...) I do that every once in a while, too. Search back into the bowels of older creations looking for inspirations for new stuff. I'm constantly amazed by the sheer volume of amazing works that've been published since I've been on Lugnet. (...) It (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: MOC: PE-1 Duster (seed part)

Many thanks James! I seem to be really hooked on the asymetrical concept these days. It's fun to make it such, yet try to balance it visually so it doesn't look lobsided or too gangly. When I was looking at this afterward on my desk, it brought up (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: MOC: PE-1 Duster (seed part)

Thanks Anne! The seed part is a new feature of the .space forum. Suggested by Adrian, a part is chosen each month and is featured on the splash page about 2/3 of the way down on the left side. The challenge is to use the part in an MOC during it's (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: MOC: PE-1 Duster (seed part)

(...) When Jon Palmer took over the reins as curator of .space, he requested ideas for what to add to the .space sidebar. I had mentioned the lame parts contest, and creating a monthy lame part that can be used as inspiration for creations, and lo, (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: MOC: PE-1 Duster (seed part)

I know! I Just saw it this past Monday. That moderator guy...must be 24/7. After I read your post, I took a look back to the hovership (thing) posts...it really does look like part of the crew. Some great designs came out of that run - will be going (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: MOC: PE-1 Duster (seed part)

Thankye, kind sir. I thought I'd better take a swing at it before it changed up to an even more difficult part! I'm convinced that chrome looks good on nearly anything. If it were socially acceptable, I've have myself chromed. Cheers, -G (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New MOC: NCF-Starphyther

Looking good Mark! Ever since the M-tron 6923 Particle Ionizer, I've always liked the concept of the futuristic helicopter...a design this seems to be in that category. The angles of the tail section break up the main beam of the ship nicely, (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

  Starship Hatch

I do not post here much but I recently built something that I though it would be good to share. I'm sure many of you remember Todd Trotter's Sighthound (if you don't, try (URL) and the marvelous hatch he built for it. Well, I recently was (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: MOC: PE-1 Duster (seed part)

Good work on using the seed part of the month. It blends in quite well. As always you've developed a unique design. Where do you get your inspiration from? Your turning out some good MOC's lately. Keep up the good work. Jamie (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New MOC: NCF-Starphyther

Hey that looks not too bad. I was always a sucker for those little single pilot fighter type ships. Nice work with the railings on the tail. It would be interesting to see the actual model, but CAD will do. Keep up the good work. Jamie (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)
