  Running Vision Command on XP

Thanks for the advice, I now have VC working on Xp. I had one idea which made the process easier. I installed VC on a separate Win98 partition (C:\) on my HD. Since Xp can use the FAT32 Win98 partition, I didn't have to transfer the VC files to (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.vc)

VC under Win2k -- was: Running Vision Command on XP

Ted Hess recently posted a mail here with a procedure for installing Vision Command under Windows XP. He had not (yet) tried Windows 2000. I did (Win2k Professional edition), and the bottom line is Ted's procedure works for Win2k as well. Ted -- (...) (22 years ago, 24-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics.vc)

Hi all, A little birdie over at consumer affairs told me a patch is in the works! I was also told that this set is being discontinued. I should know more after a few more e-mail communications.   3Com HomeConnect camera - very Lego-compatible

Hey, I just discovered that my 3Com HomeConnect USB camera is extremely Lego-compatible. It's so close I have a feeling it's not an accident. I built a very nice pan-tilt mechanism for it. What fun! Anyway, now I don't feel so bad that I bought the (...) (22 years ago, 17-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.vc)

Should I start regretting my VC impulse buy?

Hi all, I just received my Vision Command set, purchased on an impulse when I read a post on Lugnet that I could get it for $25 from KBtoys.com. It arrived today, and I've just spent a couple of fruitless hours trying to get the Lego camera to work (...) (22 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics.vc)

Re: Running Vision Command on XP

Well, it would be nice if Lego would make this "update" available on-line. AFAIK, this update is only on the RIS 2.0 CD. Perhaps, you could order the RIS 2.0 updgrade from Lego. I suppose this update was to make VCS compatible with RIS 2.0 which (...) (22 years ago, 4-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics.vc)

Re: Running Vision Command on XP

Great work, Ted. Do you think a similar hack could make Lego Studios run under XP? Anyway, this workaround just underlines the poor, poor support from Lego. The VC/Studios support sites does not even mention XP! Wake up, Lego! A company thats says (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.vc)

  Running Vision Command on XP

I think I found the key to my previous success at getting VCS to run on W2K/XP. This is the good news - The bad news is you need to get a copy of RIS 2.0 and run the VCS update utility on the RIS CD. I don't know if this update is available from (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.vc)
