I think the call to lr_shutdown() in Christian's program clobbered
things such that the remote may no longer be useable unless the
power is cycled on/off or a fresh copy of brickOS.srec is downloaded.
He already indicated that the remote works fine with the standard
firmware (in the original post), so I think the nested calls to
startup & shutdown are putting the system into an undesirable state.
