 | | Re: Is there a NQC HowTo out there someplace?
| I was in the same situation as you when I started out with NQC and I found the following resources helpful... Programming Lego Robots using NQC by Mark Overmars is a good tutorial...I probably used it the most to learn the basics of NQC... (...) (24 years ago, 2-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

| (...) Well there are books called "Teach yourself C in 5 days", 21 days and so on... try amazon books. NQC is not actually a full C compiler, it has been simplified a great deal and if you learn the basics from a book, you'd be ready to go with NQC (...) | | Is there a NQC HowTo out there someplace?
| Hello, I have reached the limits of what Mindstorm 2.0 software can do a long time ago and now want to go further. I think I would try the NQC. My problem is that I do not know anything about C or NQC. I have learned Pascal and Basic language (and (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

 | | Pullback RCX Car
| Hello, I've just had an crazy but simple idea a few days back. I was looking at all the pullback cars from LEGO in the shop, and it strikes me that the only thing that pullback motor does is to first "charge" the motor (spring) with energy and then (...) | | brickOS is slower than NQC for sending message
| I tested two ways with brickOS and NQC, source as below, you will find the NQC can only send about 80 messages in 4s, brickOS can send all 255 messages, but need 20s, in other word, NQC needs 50ms for sending a message, or brickOS needs above 100ms (...) | | Re: Pullback RCX Car
| Interesting idea. The idea of a pullback car is that you provide the energy, and store it in a spring. How about a "real" pullback car that works like this: The drive motor would be used as a generator during pullback, to charge a capacitor. You (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

 | | Re: Using two RCX bricks in one robot
| As long as there is some surface for the IR to bounce off, the bricks do not have to face each other. Sending messages is the technique that is used and is very effective. You can do this with any of the various programming languages. -- Bob Fay (...) (25 years ago, 18-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
