| | RCX Power connector
| Hi all, If you still want to get a (second) RCX with a power connector, order online from www.legoworldshop.com. Make sure you order the RIS 1.0. Lego will throw in the upgrade to 1.5 in for free, so you still get the same set. I just got mine. I (...) (25 years ago, 9-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | IR Proximity Detection Problem
| I have tried to get proximity dectection via RCX emitting IR (SendMessage/NQC) and Light Sensor (mounted on top of the RCX's IR unit). But the raw values seemed to be the same with/without emitting IR. Average value was 725. Went up to 800 (black (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | Power to RCX
| Hi all, I just got my new RIS Ver.#2, and I am far from being an electronic expert. I am wondering if a proper wall tranformer with an adapter inside the RCX to connect to the battery terminals would work for stationary application. Of course, I do (...) | | Re: A few questions on NQC vs. VB
| Hi Zac, Dave Baum's NQC is excellent ... not quite the capabilities of pbForth, but *much* easier to learn. Mark Overmars' RCX-CC makes NQC even easier to use ... and best of all, both Dave and Mark have made their efforts available for use free of (...) (25 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | RCX low battery indicator problem
| This is my first venture into lugnet.robotics, so excuse me if this has been asked and answered before. I've bought an RIS 1.5 form EBay for my son for Cristmas. The RCX received seems to have a problem with the low battery indicator - it comes on (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jan-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | RCX assembly instructions of Lego quality

| Where do I go to find more RCX assembly instructions of Lego quality? For free or for money? I ask because I know a six year old who can now confidently assemble a robot from the Lego instructions. I think because those instructions show and count (...) (22 years ago, 8-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | Re: Alternative to batteries?
| There are two different versions of the RCX. Unfortunately, they are both labeled "RCX 1.0". The one that comes with the Robotics Invention System 1.0 has a power adapter input and the one that comes with RIS 1.5 does not. It is possible to use (...) | (...) You can use lnp_logical_write. But - the IR tower automatically turns off if nothing has been sent through it, so in order to see the data coming in, you have to keep sending something through the tower. [...] -- Regards, Modemch (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| | Controlling RCX with game controller

The program is called Remote Control X. One key feature is the (...) (24 years ago, 12-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
