| (...) Theresa, If you're using LegOS (not BrickOS), then I believe the answer is that you can't get around it. I don't think LegOS works with the USB tower. You'll need to go with a version of BrickOS (which doesn't yet have a cool install like (...) (21 years ago, 1-May-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| I just wondered - is it possible to use the ir tower as an irDA-port? I know that it isn't the protocal that the rcx uses, but since the rcx can coummunicate with e.g. a palm .. | I have an iBook. I know about NQC and decided to give it a try. I thought "hey, it works for mac! Great! I can install it on my iBook, run it, and then I can program my robots on my iBook! | I just installed the software for Vision Command. VC uses the 2.0 firmware. I have not had any problems with the 2.0 firmware on my RCX 1.0 brick (from the RIS 1.5 set).
