The new 2.1.4 Version of pbForth has a minor fix that affected programmers using the MARKER word. I recommend you get the new 2.1.2 GUI while you're at it because it is less agressive in stripping comments when uploading scripts. This was causing (...) (...) What might be doable and best is a documented bus extension (a card plug-in) slot. This could be taken to the extreme by making a cpu unit that just has power (plug-in option of course) and memory (expandable of course) and maybe the IR or (...) I'd be happy with a good "official" LEGO SONAR sensor and a fixed version of the LEGO Rotation Sensor (without the lost "clicks" bug) On the RCX side, I'd like a RCX 3.0 with 6+ sensor inputs and more outputs (and more RAM. Oh, and I forgot one of the "BIGGEST" wishes on the list: 5) Linksys wireless access port response rather than the directional IR port. Or at least SOME form of 900MHz+ communication that is non-directional, with higher bandwidth (who knows...maybe (...) (23 years ago, 10-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Seems to me that the BEST implementation of the RCX would be for some CORE changes and feature sets to be built in. The new 2.1.3 Version of pbForth has only minor fixes thanks to the investigative efforts of David Rojas and Rob Harvey. I spent a week googling about trying to see if RIS 2.0 worked under Windows 2000 or not, to no avail. I specifically asked Lego and they said it was unsupported (as expected). I don't think collision detection will be possible since the hardware/firmware does a checksum (at least in lego firmware), and no message is provided to the VM software (LASM), this prevents ACK/NAK protocols working. The 'usual' way to get status data is to poll the the RCX memory for status information, but you can't do that because of the number of RCX bricks; so how about getting each RCX to send a response message (or series of messages) to the PC encoding (...)
