I toyed some time ago with the idea of colored leds to provide color information to RCX - I didn't construct anything yet. I intended to use R/V/B leds (the addition of an IR one is a good idea) with an RCX controlled cycling mechanism to light the (...) (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

(...) Would it not be better to have 3 'eyes' each with a different filter. Red, Blue and green coloured filters. We used to do this for digitizing. Doesn't this application following the same rules? We're trying to expand the size of our class, and consequently need additional parts (and replacements for missing/broken parts) I've looked around on the lego homepage (...) A couple of days ago I heard about an COLOR light sensor for the RCX. I have searched on the Internet for this, but the only thing I could find was a NQC program for this sensor. Windows - The Lego driver does a pretty good job of making the tower look like a comm port but with a different name (\\.\LEGOTOWER1), although I believe calls to set the baud rate/parity/etc fail. (...) Seems like it behaves like a file, no special magic needed once you have the device driver installed (under Windows). Just bought a Bionicle Manas set... (2x IR receiver with 2x build motors and 2x an IR transmitter to fight agaist each other, they do work independent to each other...)
