Re: XCam2 as replace for Vision Command?

I think I didn't mention that there is an addition for XCam2 called XRay which makes XCam2 a usb webcam. My question was if it could be used. Can you select which camera you would like to use in VC software or does it only work with the LEGO cam? (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: XCam2 as replace for Vision Command?

There seems to be a common misconception that all cameras are equal! They are not. The kind of interface commonly found in webcams and the Lego cam are USB based digital ones which are supported by the O/S and deliver digitised images as bits maps (...)   XCam2 as replace for Vision Command?

Hi! Has anyone experience in using the wireless XCam2 as a replace for Vison Command. I was interested in Vision Command but did't buy it because the camera is always connected to the PC via a cable. With XCam2 you could build a robot that could (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

RCX/CM doc on reading sensors using Get Value <source> <argument>

I'm building my own Java code to drive the CM from my PC COM port. Now I have some testing/lab sw which reasonably reliably writes to and reads from the COM port, I got stuck at read sensor using the GetValue opcode 0x12. I can read the variables (...) Idea: Drawing shapes with a robot and then getting them into the computer ok, i haven't thought this one all the way through, but here is an idea that i had a long time ago, i forgot about, and then it cropped up again today in my head...   Re: LeJOS

(...) There are some examples in the distribution. For a documentation you have to call javadoc. Naturally it is helpfull if you have some knowledge on the RCX. There is only a lack of documentation which Java-features are missing. You have to go (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

Where can I find a 6551 Electric Switch?

I'm trying to find a few (At least 1) 6551 Lego Electrical Switch. I saw two in an old Space Shuttle Technics kit. Lego's web site does not find it by part number. Anyone know where I could get some?   How well does the RCX JVM work?

All, I am considering moving up to the Java VM from NQC on my RCX but I have a few questions. Does it only run on a PC? W9X? Mac (NO PC emulation)? Does it need spirit.ocx to run? Can I write in my own SDK or does it have its own SDK, and do its own (...) (24 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

Re: Positioning with the RCX - a pragmatic approach

(...) I have seen a nonlego robot called Cye. He is controlled by a human on a computer. As you move him about a room, he uses a computer program and a bump sensor to make a 'map' of the room. After the map is made, a homebase can be set up, and (...) (24 years ago, 3-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Positioning with the RCX - a pragmatic approach

THE QUESTION ... ... how to determine and measure a position in a room? This question was raised several times in LUGNET (e.g. Kris Zabriskie) and caused some discussions.   Joystick function in RCXCC

Re: LNP - LegOS Network Protocol

(...) It is now. :) I'm guessing you're seeing an outdated copy of the HOWTO, as there's now a decent section about LNP.
