Re: Training OmniRemote for RCX commands

(...) OK - dim it shall be. (...) Oh yeah...I forgot about that feature. It's in the backup folder of my account folder. (...) Cool! I'm not sure it will be better, though. (...) Thanks, Robert! Ed (26 years ago, 8-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

Re: Training OmniRemote for RCX commands

Hi Ed, I have found that training OmniRemote works best if you don't hold the Palm too close to the LEGO IR tower and the room is dim. When you train OmniRemote the settings are updated in the OmniRemote.PDB file (the program file is Remote.PRC). (...) (26 years ago, 8-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  Training OmniRemote for RCX commands

Hello - I've downloaded and implemented Robert Eddings' OmniRemote.PDB to my Palm IIIx, but I'm going to retrain the buttons, as some don't work, and some work intermittently. Robert has noted that training the OmniRemote was not consistant - do you (...) (26 years ago, 8-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  Re: Built-in IR

Robert, you don't need to set the frequency. Just set the baud rate to a high frequency. Like 76K. Then try the things we talked about via email. MIke Robert Eddings <webmake@bellsouth.net> wrote in message news:38484B10.636C8C...uth.net... (...) (26 years ago, 4-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  Re: Built-in IR

Mike, I've done quite a bit of investigating and I can't find a way to change the Palm IR transmission frequency. The IR library is supposed to allow low level configuration of the IR port but I don't see any way to set the frequency. This seems (...) (26 years ago, 3-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  Re: LRemote version 1.1 available

(...) Hmm. On the OmniRemote website, they make this statement: "The (3Com OS3.0 upgrade card) IR is more powerful than a true Palm III, more powerful than the OmniRemote Module and sometimes even more than the original remote." This leads me to (...) (26 years ago, 23-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  Re: LRemote version 1.1 available

Thanks for all the nice comments. I've spent some time searching the web about IR. Since the Palm uses the IrDA standard and so do PCs, I figured that someone must have written some sort of remote control for PCs. And maybe they would have source (...)   Re: LRemote version 1.1 available

Mike, I like the improvements you made to LRemote and the new web site looks great. The section on connecting to the tower that shows the minifig laying buzz saw to cable is just too funny! One suggestion is that when you describe taking the back (...) (26 years ago, 18-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  LRemote version 1.1 available

Howdy, version 1.1 of LRemote is available. I added the ability to control motor C--use the up and down scroll buttons to make it go forward and reverse. Also added some visual feedback when you press the arrows. Don't forget to check out Carl (...) (26 years ago, 17-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  Built-in IR

The problem with programming the built-in IR in the Palm is that one needs to access and control the hardware directly. You can't use the normal programming interfaces for controlling the IR. This requires an in-depth knowledge of IR protocol and (...) (26 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  BrickRemote and LRemote

It looks like the problem was the files were corrupted on download. When I send the files via email they have worked fine. I've put them in .ZIP files this time. So, try it again! Version 0.6 of BrickRemote and the first version of LRemote at: (URL) (...) (26 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  Re: BrickRemote, LRemote and OS3.3

I'm waiting for Palm to send me a copy of OS 3.3. I've followed all their guidelines, I don't know why this happens. Mike Robert Eddings <webmake@bellsouth.net> wrote in message news:382B2DDC.110E3F...uth.net... (...) (26 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  BrickRemote, LRemote and OS3.3

Mike, I'm very sorry to report that both BrickRemote and LRemote gave fatal exception errors on install that required a hard reset. My PalmIIIx: OS3.3, no expansion card, no modem, no hacks, no third party software installed when tested. Robert (...) (26 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

  New Version Of BrickRemote

Howdy, Anybody home? The latest version of BrickRemote is 0.6. I believe the bug which caused it to crash upon installing has been fixed. Please let me know if this isn't true. Several minor changes have been made as well. Also, there is a new (...) (26 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

-Cross posted to lugnet.robotics.palm -Please respond to this post only in lugnet.robotis.palm As others have stated, The Palm IR is IrDA compliant and the RCX IR is not.   RE: Palm Pilot to RCX remote controller

  RE: BrickRemote

No the hot sync cable (cradle) wouldn't work - I have modified the cradle to stop the battery drain problem, but don't think this caused the problem I know the modem cable is wired differently it's a 25 pin connector and I used a 25pin to 9 pin (...)   Re: BrickRemote

David, Are you saying that the HotSync cable didn't work? It worked for me when connected directly from the Palm to the tower (I had to cut off the screws to make it fit in the tower). I haven't seen the modem cable for the Palm. Does it fit into (...) (26 years ago, 8-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.palm)
