The LEGO shaft encoder and light sensor are active sensors that
need a special circuit.  The Expansion Board for the HB provides
this ckt and the requisite drivers.

Your simplest path to using these with the HB is to get an Exp Bd.
Barring that, you can look at the schematics and implement the LEGO
sensor circuit yourself.

Thanks, I thought there might be a special connector but I see now
that its
a standard enough connector.
Another question: How can I get the handy board to read from the lego
rotation sensor and the lego light sensor? I can get the touch
sensor to
work no problem but Im having difficulty with the others.
Thanks, Brendan
