Hello everybody, HELP HELP HELP ... I can't found the Dallas 1233-10 circuit in Belgium, it's the only part I need to continue my HB to the end. BUT I found an IC from Maxim that could do the job, is it true? This part is the MAX809L (threshold of (...) (28 years ago, 8-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: "Mobile Robots: Inspiration to Implementation" for FIVE BUCKS!!

(...) I like the book "Sensors for Mobile Robots" by H.R. Everett. It doesn't have alot of microrobtics in it but is good for theory and to build you a foundation in Robotics Technology. (28 years ago, 8-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: Mini Board or Handy Board?

(...) In answer to your last question, the best price I have seen for the MC68HC11E1FN is at B.G. Micro for $6.95 if my memory is correct. I have dealt with them before and not had any problems so far. You can check the price on their web page at (...) (28 years ago, 7-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: Mini Board or Handy Board?

(...) A little background, my first robot controller was the 1802 based ELF processor ca. 1979, it didn't do much. The first mobile robot I built was tethered to a Heathkit H-8. The first untethered robot used a Xerox 820 mainboard, and a lot of (...) (28 years ago, 7-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Mini Board or Handy Board?

I am just getting into robotics and microcontrollers, and have run up against a brick wall. After gathering information on both the Handy Board and the Mini Board, I am unable to decide which to build first. Money is somewhat tight, so whatever (...)   Polaroid Sonar Ranging Module

Hi ! Again this is a question about the Polaroid Sonar Module. Some times ago I disasembled a partly dead Polaroid camera and now I have a neat little board with the sonar transducer conected to it. I even have schematics for this board (thanks to (...) (28 years ago, 6-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Interactive C - Preprocessing?

Hans, Thanks for this. Actually, I am now using the CPP that comes with the GNU-C / AS11 set for the PCODE & *.ICB re-compilation. I call my real source *.IC and pre-process it into *.C, then let IC load that .C file. I am winning in a clumsy way I (...) (28 years ago, 6-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Pic16c84 programming with Handyboard

David -- The MAX662 chip I used on the last beta rev was not the magic bullet I hoped. Not only is there possibly the rise time problem you mention, but when the thing turns off, it outputs 5v. The PIC needs a swing from 0v to 12v to enter program (...) (28 years ago, 5-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) See my home page, (URL) for information on the Programmable Brick project. Just so it's clear: MIT is not, and is not going to, release the design for the P-Brick. Any info published is "FYI" only; this board is not being distributed. -Fred (28 years ago, 5-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Pic16c84 programming with Handyboard

David, Althuogh I don't have an expansion board either, I am in the middle of testing some code that I wrote to program pi16c84s. Everything seems to be working well, I just want to keep on testiong it before releasing it. I wrote it such that it (...) (28 years ago, 5-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

HI! I have got a little question about the expansion board: at the HB home page, I could read that the exp. board was not yet finished and that the programming of the PIC16C84 is impossible. In fact, I did not found any layout of the two layers of (...) (28 years ago, 5-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Quick Question...

Howdy, Ordinarily this would be a question better suited for comp.sci.electronics...g-or-other but since the Handy Board expansion interface uses a 4051, I figured someone here could give me the answer more quickly... The official docs for the 4051 (...) (28 years ago, 5-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Buying a board.

ok, I've been lurking on this group for like 2 or 3 years. I've just now finally gotten around to looking into actually buying a board. The only problem is that I don't have a lot of knowledge about robots at least the building end of it, I know (...) (28 years ago, 5-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: help on hbtest.c

Hi Steve, The file hbtest.c allows you to test the various features of the Handy Board and make sure they are operational. To use hbtest.c, type "load hbtest.c" at the IC prompt. When the file is finished loading, you will see the IC prompt again. (...) (28 years ago, 5-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
