  robot bodies....

Hello, A friend and I are planning on using the Handyboard to built a robot. Right now we're in the planning stage, and wanted suggestions for different types of bodies. We constructed a crude body using sheet metal, wood, etc., but we want to use (...) (28 years ago, 22-Sep-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: SPI & Mini SSC

With all this talk about the SPI, I was just wondering if anybody had any luck connecting the HB to either of the Basic Stamps. Just curious Matt ___...___ Matthew J. Harlan Cornell University Electrical Engineering mjh10@cornell.edu (28 years ago, 20-Sep-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: SPI & Mini SSC

(...) Probably not, depending on how your write your code. The Master will send data on the MOSI pin, and the slave will receive on the MOSI pin, so that would be straight through cable. Depends though, if all your boards are masters, then you must (...) (28 years ago, 20-Sep-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: SPI & Mini SSC

(...) It's in the 68HC11 reference manual. Not hard, but I don't think any handyboard library routines have been written to queue up bytes to be streamed out. If you write any, you might share your stuff here, I have such a need as well. (...) MISO (...) (28 years ago, 20-Sep-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  SPI & Mini SSC

I just got a handyboard and have been playing with it. I would like to maybe network a couple of miniboards to it for expansion using the SPI. So: 1) how does one drive the SPI, software wise? (If this info is in the 6811 reference manual, just tell (...) (28 years ago, 19-Sep-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: My HB does not want to charge file pcode_hb.s19

(...) This command line has two errors. First, it should be "-256", not "-216". Second, do NOT use the "-mb" flag. This is for the Mini Board---not the Handy Board. Also, you can try dl.exe. This might work better. (...) This is not a problem. As (...) (28 years ago, 19-Sep-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

My HB does not want to charge file pcode_hb.s19

Hi all, I am a young fellowship from Spain. I have received the HB because I have to make a program for a private company and they want to work with the HB. I have the downloaders (dl, dlm and hbdl) but my HB doesn't work. I turn it on while holding (...) (28 years ago, 19-Sep-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Where do you buy the Hitachi LCD screens?

  Re: IC on Tcomp?

Good question. In principle, the answer is yes. The base requirements for running IC are the 6811, 32K ram, and a serial port. In practice, no one has modified the pcode for a "generic" system configuration. One tricky part would be disabling the (...) (28 years ago, 17-Sep-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  IC on Tcomp?

Thanks to Chuck McManis' pointer, I found Ray Butts' web page. He makes a 68HC11E1 + 32K RAM + MAX232 computer he calls the Tcomp for about $60. Would IC run on this machine? I know the handyboard library would no longer apply. I want to keep as (...) (28 years ago, 17-Sep-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: mc68hc11a1fn and sonar

I agree with you Bastiaan that the book Microcontroller Technology by Peter Spasov is very good for one want to learn about how to program micon 6811. My lecturer recomended that book, too. But is there any other suggestion. (...) (28 years ago, 17-Sep-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  how to create .icb files

I'm writing some code to control stepper motors with the handy-board. But how to translate (assemble) a .asm file to a .icb file ? Thanks, Jan (28 years ago, 17-Sep-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Tiny 2.0 computer by Ray Butts?

About a year and a half ago, I read in the ROBOTS! newsletter about Mr. Ray Butts and the Tiny 2.0 computer he sold based on the 68HC11E1, 32K RAM, and little else. Email to his address raybutts@netcom.com (cited in the article) bounced. Does anyone (...) (28 years ago, 16-Sep-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

run two servo motors from your HB!

Hi all, I have written new servo code, creating two independent interrupt driven routines. each one can run its own servo motor, so you have full control of two servo motors from a basic HB, no expansion board required.
