Good question.

In principle, the answer is yes.  The base requirements for running IC
are the 6811, 32K ram, and a serial port.

In practice, no one has modified the pcode for a "generic" system
configuration.  One tricky part would be disabling the LCD screen
code.  You'd probably want to disable the PWM motor code as well.

The only other gotcha I can think of is that the 32K RAM must be
mapped to the upper 32K of the address space.  The way that IC loads
drivers requires the interrupt vectors to be RAM, not ROM.

It would be cool to get IC running on Ray's board.  You'll need Randy
Sargent's version of the as11 assembler and the "as11_ic" shell script
to assemble the pcode.asm file.  These tools run best on Unix
machines, but I believe people have gotten them to run under DOS.  No
Macintosh solution that I know of.

Good luck,
Fred

Thanks to Chuck McManis' pointer, I found Ray Butts' web page.  He makes a
68HC11E1 + 32K RAM + MAX232 computer he calls the Tcomp for about
$60. Would IC run on this machine?  I know the handyboard library would no
longer apply.  I want to keep as much of my present software as I can,
however, and it seems dl and ic should work.  Am I wrong?

Since the E1 can be configured to have 4 Input Capture and 4 Output
Compare lines, this computer may finally satisfy my need to process 4 RC
signals.  I had only gotten 2 thus far on the Handyboard.
