  RE: Bot vision

(...) This sounds more like what I was thinking of. I whanted the robot to be able to capture still pictures and send them through a digital link to the host computer. The idea was to design an expansion board for the HB that captured an imageand (...) (28 years ago, 27-Jul-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: Bot vision

The limits on available user ram will make this difficult at best. If you can assume a 4K byte buffer for your image, that is only 64 pixels on a side, not much to work with. There are a couple of possible solutions however. One is the "ImageWise" (...) (28 years ago, 27-Jul-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Bot vision

(...) I4m also interested in interfacing a CCD chi with the handy board. I have no previous experience with this particular component and I would appreciate any references that may help me get started. So far I just understand the basic operation (...) Hey, the new website is kinda neat! My two cents... :-) (28 years ago, 26-Jul-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Bot vision

Has anyone tried using a CCD vision system with HandyBoard? If so I would like to know what you are using and how you went about it. Also, where is everyone? On vacation or something? :-) Thanks Larry ***...*** Larry Randall ***...*** If it works (...) (28 years ago, 25-Jul-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: serial interface

(...) It sounds like you have a bad solder joint. I would take a multimeter set on the conductivity mode and test pins 2 and 3 of the female serial connector on the interface/charger board. Pin 2 of the serial connector connects to pin 8 of the (...) (28 years ago, 22-Jul-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  serial interface

Hi: I am sorry that the massage was sent several times, it was not intended. I was able to get the serial connection to stabilize ( the least movement will throw it off), however, when connected to the board, the green LED will come on, and it will (...)   Serial interface

Hi Fred: Thank you for returning my call. The problem I am having is with the serial interface. The green light is not coming on when it is connected to the computer. I tried to jiggle it to see if there was a loose connection, and I found that (...) (28 years ago, 22-Jul-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  5V reg. WITH delayed reset

This is an interesting device for all HC11 applications: The LM2925 Low dropout regulator with delayed reset (from National Semiconductor). It is a 5 lead TO220 package including the usual 5V regulator (750 mA min, 1.2 A typ.) plus a reset output (...) (28 years ago, 19-Jul-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Bend Sensors/ ES Chasis kits

Greetings! I have been trying to get a hold of some AGE bend sensors. It appears that AGE does not make them any more. Is that true? Are there any similar products that can be used instead (with the HB). Has any one used the (wooden?) chasis kits (...) (28 years ago, 19-Jul-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Electronic Compass?

(...) I messed with the Vector2X (~$50 from Jameco) on the miniboard. It was supposed to have a SPI compatible bus, but I couldn't get it to work with SPI bus. I got it to work with one of the other IO ports. Using the handyboard with IC might make (...) (28 years ago, 19-Jul-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Electronic Compass?

Has anyone gotten a relatively cheap (<$100) electronic compass, like the KVH100, to i/f to the Handyboard? I believe it uses the SPI architecture which matches the Handyboard. * Michael L.   web site update

Hi all, I've made some cosmetic changes to the HB web site. If anyone has any feedback, positive or negative, i'd like to hear it. Thanks, Fred (28 years ago, 19-Jul-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  BackLite LCD

Hello! Does anyone know of a good backlite LCD display that could be easily be used with the Handy Board (hitachi chipset)? Thanks.. joeo@symtec.com (28 years ago, 18-Jul-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Servo Motor

Hi Hajime, Here's the rundown for connecting the servo to the Handy Board: 1) Assuming you're using digital port 9, you will need a connector like this: _ =====| |== <--- connect the WHITE wire from the servo here | | <--- remove pin to polarize (...)
