Hey, it's time to celebrate! :-) I managed to get the h-bridge circuit working, after thinking about it for a while, tinkering a bit, and reading a couple chapters on transistors... :-) I can run a motor forward and backward, with no problem. (...) Yup. Worked for me. :-) I used port D on the HB as a 4 bit output, ran a cable from there to port C on the MB, and used one of the Y signals on the HB as a data ready line. When the motor power is removed, the motor generates a reverse voltage. This voltage can damage the transistors, the diodes provide a conductive path back to the power supply to absorb these spikes. An LM317T is probably what you want. It will provide 1A continous or 1.5A with heat sink. Put a large Cap on the output to take care of peak surge requited by the motors when turned on. (...) Yup. I use my 7200/75 as my only robot development station, and love it. Not a single problem. As11_ic works great, all beat versions of IC work great, even the older version 2 of IC works great. My handyboard couldn't be happier. (except if (...)
