  Re: positioning of robot

What is your application of the robot? My experience has shown that different wheel configurations lend themselves naturally to different applications: In general, think about how you want your robot to move and turn, and what sort of terrain it (...)   Hall Effect Trans.

I have to measure the speed of a wheel similiar to a bicycle wheel. I figure the best way (or at least one way) to do it is to use a hall effect transistor switching into a counter. Does anyone have any suggestions for a part/manufacturer to use for (...) (27 years ago, 11-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Hall Effect Trans.

I'd like to hear what you come up with as well. Presently I just use the magnet/coil sensor pairs that you can buy in any bike store. You just hook the shield to ground, and the other wire to, say, an input-capture pin of a 68HC11, with a 3.3 K pull (...) (27 years ago, 11-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Voltage

Yeah, the 12V goes into the motor power pin of the L293's. Thus you will get a higher than 9.6 motor voltage. ---...--- ericson mar Master of Engineering Candidate Project: Mobile Robotics mar@cooper.edu (212)353-4356 Department of Mechanical (...)   Re: Servo as drive motor

(...) Because the servos are closed systems they don't have a hard requirement that their motors run at the same speed, however it would affect the slew rate which is spec'd so they have to be reasonably close.
