dear german,

i think what's going on is that you are asking very open-ended
questions that require a lot of work to compose a helpful response.

if i remember right, your earlier question was with regard to
networking using the spi port of long distances.

to answer, yes, it can be done, but you need to spend time learning
the 6811 spi system (get the "pink book" referred to on the technical
documents page), and for long distances, you may need to use a current
loop interface, e.g., rs-485 (somebody pls. correct me if i've
remembered that number wrong).

re: this question, card readers, yes of course it can be done, but
again, it will require custom engineering that is not trivial.  you
will have to write assembly language drivers to interface with the
card reader.  i am not an expert on card readers, and i don't know if
people have already written 6811 software for card readers.  i
wouldn't be surprised if they have, why don't you do a net-search for
"card readers" and "68hc11".
