  Re: IR Collision avoidance

(...) I have a few questions for you. How did you combine the 38khz and 500hz signal. In a design that I am working on now I have two signals similar to yours and an enable signal running into a three input AND gate. I haven't built it yet but it (...)   motors

Hi, Yes, that schematic posted by Prabal was exactly what I meant. I sent you the bmp anyway, Adam. David (28 years ago, 2-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: motor voltages

Adam, I think David meant something like this: |---|<|---|<|---|<|---| M+ ----x x----(motor)---- |---|>|---|>|---|>|---| | | M- ---...--- That way you have a voltage drop AND conduction in both directions. - Prabal (...) (28 years ago, 2-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  where to get a board.

hello. i'm new to this mailing list, and would like to purchase a handy board. i'm curious if there i a place where i could perhaps find a used one (in working order), or who the best (read: cheapest) distributor is. thanks for info you can provide.   Re: Servos and Handyboard.

you can't power 2 servos from the hb's own +5v supply. get a separate 5v supply (linear regulated, *noT* a switching supply, OR batteries) and run your servo power from that. connect this external supply ground to the HB motor ground (on J13). -Fred (...)   Re: motor voltages

David, I would be interested in seeing a schematic on the wiring of the diode array. I am not sure of how it goes - exactly. I'm not located near a dedicated fax. I was wondering if it might not be too much trouble to sketch the schemtic on some (...) (28 years ago, 2-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Servos and Handyboard.

Hi Everyone. I'm doing a project on controlling servos using the handy board (actually, I'm building a camera rig with servo controls and interfacing this tho the www) My problem is this: when i try to control both servos at the same time, using the (...)   as11 assembler

Hi, This may be a dumb question, but I hope someone will oblige me anyway. I was checking out the handyboard website, and I wasn't able to find a PC version of the as11 assembler. Does anyone know where I can get a copy? Thanks, Maria ---...--- (...) (28 years ago, 2-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: D0 - D7

Mar, This is what I've learned about the handyboard so far, and hopefully it will give you a little insight into what's going on with D0-D7 (the external bus). Because of the way the handyboard is configured, it's operating in special test mode. In (...) (28 years ago, 2-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IR collision avoidance

Riachard, Could you please explain to me how the IR emitter angled at 45 degrees is able to pick up its beem. I'm unsure of the IR emmission dynamics. Wouldn't an IR angled perpidicular to the wall being travelled along suffice as the only sensor? (...) (28 years ago, 2-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  D0 - D7

I was poking about the HB with an osciloscope and ran into a bit of confusion. I had the motor outputs ON and wanted to see the PWM effect. I was able to see the square waves but...when I poked "behind" the octal latch to see what's going on with (...) (28 years ago, 2-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  hello everyone

After many frustrations and down times, I've decided to move from students to cslab. Please send me e-mail at brojd_b@cslab.uwlax.edu and NOT at brojd_b@students.uwlax.edu Thanks Benny (28 years ago, 2-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Fun part

Cappy, (...) I believe that the quickest, most efficient way to get a handle on C is to obtain and begin reading a book called "The C Programming Language" by Brian Kernighan and Dennis Ritchie, ISBN 0-13-110362-8. I just sucessfully finished putting together the handyboard and will say that if one takes their time and is careful-there shoould be no problems. One observation/question.   Reducing Battery Pack Voltage

Hi Fred I am attemping to run two low voltage DC motors (as motors 0 and 1), around 3V each(I don't have specs). I have piggybacked two of the motor driver chips (and maybe adding a third) to handle the higher current but they are still getting (...) (28 years ago, 1-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Reducing Battery Pack Voltage

I think I might have wrote something wrong before. I said that you can use an external battery of 3V. I take it back. Sorry... I didn't realise that it would only work for 6 volts to 36 volts.   Re: Reducing Battery Pack Voltage

U can use an external battery with the HB. It can be 3V. Check the FAQ in the HB HP.
