  LCD Help

I have build the board described in my book "Mobile Robots" which is a great book. I just got the board going after realizing it isn't a good idea to assume the pin outs of all 32K x 8 ram chips is standardized :) I was hoping someone could help (...)   hbdl doesn't work?

I successfully downloaded hbdl (thanks for fixing it, Fred!) and ran into some problems when trying to use it.   Vadim's Windows downloader

I moved it to the ic_contrib directory on cherupakha so Netscape will let you download it properly. Sorry for the mistake first time around. -Fred (29 years ago, 9-Mar-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  downloader for windows

I've also had trouble downloading the new downloader... I think perhaps it's not set up quite right on the web page - the file is viewed on screen instead of saved to disk in Netscape. I'm going to try and get around the problem by using lynx or (...) (29 years ago, 9-Mar-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Windows 6811 downloader

Hi I cannot download the Windows 6811 downloader. It seems to be in .exe format rather than .zip. Thanx - Arun (29 years ago, 8-Mar-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Handyboard assembly problem fixed

Dear Fred: No, we went through the assembly following your directions step by step. By the statement " Board OK", I meant that the tests upto the point of downloading pcode (second time with LCD in) tested OK. I did not want to bore the audience (...)   Re: Handyboard Kits

Dear Ram, I have not run into the exact problem which you describe, but I have some ideas which may be beneficial anyway. The first thing I would check is to make sure all the RAM pins are soldered properly. Since DL downloads the code without (...) (29 years ago, 7-Mar-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Handyboard assembly

Ah, the classic "I built it and it doesn't work" story. Did you follow the incremental building instructions? I take it the answer is no. My suggestion is to pull all of the chips, and run through the series of incremental tests in the building (...) (29 years ago, 7-Mar-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Response to Fred's note..
