  Re: High power motor drivers

You should be able to "piggy back" two motor driver chips. The normal ones for the HB are capable of about 1Amp or .6Amp. Use another 1Amp chip and you should be able to source 1.5Amps. Although, I imagine that using identical chips would be (...) (28 years ago, 28-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Rug Warrior Program in Mobile Robotics Book

I finally have my HB completed and yesterday I located the Mobile Robotics book at the University of Arkansas bookstore. Anyway what I want to know is can I load the rug warrior program that is in the back of the book as is and make it work. Are (...) (28 years ago, 28-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  68HC11

Howdy, I'm looking for a supplier of the 6811 that does not have a minimum order requirement. I was talking to Motorola direct and they had a minimum of 23 pices on theMC 68HC11A1FN. It's true that I'd like to have that many HB entities but I think (...) (28 years ago, 28-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  High power motor drivers

I need to drive two motors from the handy board and I need a little help building a driver circuit. The motors are 12v ~1.5A motors that are to be run in both directions. I want to use the motor outputs on the handyboard as the control signal to the (...) (28 years ago, 28-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  What a day.

Well I wanted to demo my new robot it was cool, but the day did not turn out to well. I think I switched the phone cables. When I tried to connect my interface board with the HB, it would not run IC. I then tried to download a new PCODE_HR.S19, but (...) (28 years ago, 28-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  (no subject)

1. Is it possible to expand the 32K RAM of the Handy Board? If so, how? 2. We will be using two shaft encoders (HEDS5500 from Hewlett-Packard) for our project. How can we interface the shaft encoders to the Handy Board? What inputs do we use? Does (...) (28 years ago, 28-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Power Supply

I'm using the 1.2 volt NiCad's wired in series to give me 9.6 volts. If I want to get rid of one or two of the batteries, will the handyboard still run at 7.2 or 6.0 volts ? What is the minimum voltage that the handyboard will run on, 5V ? I dont (...) (28 years ago, 27-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Can anyone tell me how to get the Motorola freeware assembler for the HC11, to run on a PC? Thanks Richard Whitehead (28 years ago, 27-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Mobile Robots book

I recieved my copy in a special deal from a book club that catered to electronics enthusiasts. It was a kind of Book-of-the-month club. The name escapes me at the moment. Anyway, you got to choose 3 books for like $5. Then you just had to buy one (...) (28 years ago, 27-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Vector 2x again

(...) You'll need 3 input and 2 output lines. One input and two outputs are available at the SPI port, (right side of board, J6?). Find two more discrete inputs on the Handyboard and you're set. All the other inputs on the V2X can be hardwired high (...) (28 years ago, 27-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Vector 2x again

I know this topic has come up time and time again, but from all the previous postings I still am unsure of some things. First of all has anyone be able to get the vector working *without* using any other microcontroller board (using only the (...) (28 years ago, 26-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: -POWER-GLITCH-

Make sure your downloader is configured to download "pcode_hb.s19" and not any of the other variants (eg pcode_r22.s19). Avard, please send me an email and let me know if this solves your problem. -Fred In your message you said: (...) (28 years ago, 26-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: memory not remembering...

Ben -- the pin 27 R/W line of the RAM should be connected directly to the R/W line of the 6811. I don't remember the pin # off hand -- it's 7 i think -- but just check the schematic. check the continuity first on the board. if that's ok, then check (...)   memory not remembering...

I'm stumped. In the process of assembling my first handyboard, I have just reached the stage where I install the memory (all previous checkpoints passed). The computer successfully downloads the bootstrap, sets the config register correctly, and (...) (28 years ago, 26-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  -POWER-GLITCH-

My handyboard is experiencing some kind of a -POWER-GLITCH-. At least that's what is displayed just before the board shuts itself off. How did this happen, and what can I do about it? Thanks in advance. Avard Fairbanks (28 years ago, 26-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: IC loop

(...) There are a number of ways to do this in C. If you get the code that comes with the Handyboard, they have msleep(500L); which sleeps for 500 milliseconds (L for LONG Integer) and then returns to the calling program. My code is at work, but I'm (...) (28 years ago, 26-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Mobile Robots book

(...) True. I ordered one, then another a few weeks later at $4.95. About two months ago I tried to get five and they were out of stock.   IC 3.1

Has anyone used IC 3.1 yet and does anyone know when it will be available for Windows 3.11 or win32? Thanks. Keith Soldavin kas219@email.psu.edu (28 years ago, 25-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
