ISTHERE an online description of these connectors
and how they work on sensors and actuators??
ISTHERE anyone online selling additional or modified
sensors and/or actuators?

My pages goes into a lot of this type of stuff.

LEGO has a couple of patents on the connector, but I don't have the numbers
handy.  They show the details of how they work.

Here's one of the patents:

ISTHERE any source for equivalent brick connectors other
than the buy-and-chop alternative??

I buy 9V motor wires from LEGO Shop at Home and cut them in half or use LEGO
Electric plates and cut them down to 2x2 sizes. There are other ways but
these are the best.

I agree with Mike--cutting up wire bricks (motor wires) is
probably the easiest thing. There are four methods that I
know about:

1. Cutting wire bricks in half.
2. Slicing up electric plates.
3. Use 4/40 machine screws. I've used this method; it's a little
more tricky than I thought--I had to shape the head of the
screws with a file to get them to fit right.
4. Use 3/16" copper tubing.

The main thing with #3 and #4 is to make sure to put
the screws, or tubing, in opposite corners of a 2x2 plate.
That way you'll make a connection regardless of how
the wire brick is oriented on your sensor or actuator.

Thanks, Jonathan && Others... I'll look at the patent. With all the 'clones' out there, is it likely that Lego would complain if someone made compatible-but-not- identical connectors?? How do they handle the Clone Market?? Couple of questions, (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

I was just looking at this, and realized why the male posts have only partly-exposed connectors. ISTHERE an online description of these connectors and how they work on sensors and actuators?? ISTHERE anyone online selling additional or modified (...) (25 years ago, 13-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)
