Someone in Germany has sent me pictures of the new Mindstorms sets, taken
from a retailers catalogue obtained at a recent toy trade fair:

9748 Droid Development kit
9731 Digital color camera
9736 Exploration Mars
9747 German version of the RIS

9748 looks awesome!

9748 - This must be the new button-based brick.  Is there any word on
compatibility with the RIS brick?  Looks like a lot of set-specific
pieces, though. :(

9731 - Looks neat, but I wonder if it would have any features that you
couldn't find in a quickcam?

9736 - Is it just me, or does this set seem to consist of only new wheels
and a "lander" type model?

9747 - Looks the same as the US version, but at least it's not being
discontinued, as I had feared with the new sets coming out.

Does anyone know whether there is any compatibility between the "droid"
brick, the blue brick discussed earlier, and the RIS/Cybermaster bricks?

Huw, prepare for a lot of hits on your site, I saw it posted to SlashDot a
few minutes ago. :)
