Re: NXT with 'RCX' rotation sensor

(...) Another option would be to use NBC which supports the old RCX sensors (if you have the proper adapter cable). John (19 years ago, 20-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

In article <J5uwH0.HyH@lugnet.com>, Eric Wijnsouw <sgtpeppermail@yahoo.com> writes (...) It is supported in the Educational version of the NXT software. Hopefully, now that the conversion cables are available from Lego Shop at Home, an update for (...) (19 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXT and Firmware

Thanks for the patch, but I solved the issue simply by trying a different computer. More of them gremlins that inhabit computer systems, I guess. Nasty little things... Andrew Meyer (19 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Example of two-way NXT-to-PC communication

I created a robot that demonstrates two-way bluetooth communication between a PC and a NXT (and the limitations of such communication). A program on the PC receives input from a joystick and sends commands to the NXT. This controls the movement of (...) (19 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: NXT with 'RCX' rotation sensor

(...) I believe it is only supported in the educational software version, not the retail software version, at the moment at least. JB (19 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  NXT with 'RCX' rotation sensor

I connected a 'RCX' rotation sensor to my NXT. In the 'view' submenu you can test it, select port 1 to 4 and it works just fine. However programming with it isn't possible. When you select the 'rotation sensor' from the 'complete palette', you can (...) (19 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: NXT Bluetooth on Intel Based Macs

I have unable to get bluetooth working even under windows running natively on an intel mac. When the autorun started on the lego driver / software disk, it reported that bluetooth would not work on this computer. I setup the pairing manually and (...) (19 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NBC beta news

Hello John, (...) Will the Linux build be available soon ? The link given for beta 8 has a 404 error. Thanks for your great work on NBC and thanks for compiling it under Linux. Jean-Louis Bergamo, who has just received his NXT :-) (19 years ago, 18-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: NXT and Firmware

Your NXT is partway through the "load new firmware" phase -- that's what the c;licking indicates. Here's what you need to do: 1. Open Robolab. 2. Go into administrator. 3. Download firmware. You should get a couple of screens saying firmware needs (...) (19 years ago, 18-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  NXT and Firmware

My FLL team just received its NXT kit, and I of course decided to learn how to use it before the kids, so I could help them. I turned it on, loaded up ROBOLAB 2.9, plugged in the NXT, and went to the Administrator panel. I changed the port from COM1 (...) (19 years ago, 18-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Bluetooth Direct and System Commands

RE: Bluetooth Direct and System Commands

From: Brian Bagnall There are some Bluetooth commands that are a little cryptic and sparsely documented in the official Lego docs. I was wondering if anyone could point me to some talk on this or shed some light on what these are used for: See (...) (19 years ago, 18-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NBC beta news

Hello Hari, (...) There is a lot of down-gearing in NXT motors ((URL) so you have to overcome a lot of friction to rotate its output. That's why the old RCX rotation sensor still has some uses... Philo (19 years ago, 17-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)
