If it's of any help, I have may have the lowest number: 000560 (a version 1.0).
It will download firmware from Mindstorms, Robolab, LeJos (and I suppose others
though I don't have them so I can't test that) BUT it gives an error message on
the last byte and fails. I can't tell you about its history because I bought it
inexpensively online for use in non-operating displays.
