Re: Vision Command Nightmare (long post)

Are you running an AMD Processor on your TX5 ? I found some obscure references that say the logitech software and the LEGO(R) stuff won't run on certain K6's. My K6-300 and my K6-233 do exactly what you describe : ( I took mine to work and it works (...) (24 years ago, 15-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: More juice out of the standard motors.

(...) It could be that I am misinterpreting it, but the original post seemed to ask the question "How do you get more power out of the Lego motors?" It was not about gearing or rotation sensors at all. These things are important but the implication (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: BrickBots.Com Contests Extended - Balancing a Pendulum is HARD!

Hi Richard, There has been an inverted pendulum balancer done using RCX and legos before. Here is a link to one of these projects (made by the author of the biped1 robot): (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Vision Command Nightmare (long post)

(...) I brought my VC camera into work to use as a webcam last week. I've yet to get it to work. I had it working fine at home on a PII system, but something about this ABIT TX5 board just gives me a black screen. I also tried the "Fix it" button, (...)   BrickBots.Com Contests Extended - Balancing a Pendulum is HARD!

Hi Folks, I have decided to extend the current contest (Top Spinning and Inverted Pendulum Balancing) at BrickBots.Com for two more weeks. The top spinning contest had one entry during the original timeframe, and a great one at that! You can see (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: More juice out of the standard motors.

(...) if there's enough space around you can add the rotation sensor on an auxiliary axle with an 8t gear, and an 24t gear on the direct drive axle. best, yaco\ (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Vision Command Nightmare (long post)

David (and all), I don't blame lego for the problem. But I have my computer so tweaked (mostly to run varying simulations) that sometimes new software can through it out of wack. Perhaps when I get a new computer I will get VC again (hey Brickbay is (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: More juice out of the standard motors.

(...) The original supplicant wanted to use rotation sensors - so I guess direct drive is out. I guess you can use an axle extender and use the sensor as a bearing - but you won't get a very precise position reading if you can only sense position (...)   Vision Command Nightmare (long post)

I recently purchased Vision Command from Target.Com. I own an aging machine (p-233, 64 ram, win ME) but one that stil suits my needs. Running Windows ME I thought that using USB devices would be no problem. I went through the install process, and (...) (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)
