  Re: Cheshire LEGOFest pictures

(...) Tell me about it! I've had to program real systems (as opposed to real lego systems :-) with no feedback at various points in the past, and it can indeed be horrific. However, I believe John may have something up his sleeve with regard to (...) (24 years ago, 7-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) True, but this one can have a computer of any sort on the outside, as it were. Depending on your application either one could be more useful - personally, being a distributed type of person who builds smallish scale models with a large (...) (24 years ago, 7-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  killer mindsorms robots

anybody have or have read the book Killer Mindstorm Robots by Gordon McComb, just came out this year. ISBN: 0071370404 Storm the LEGO castle with this complete guide to designing, building, and programming "combots" (combat robots) using the LEGO (...) (24 years ago, 7-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: 3 Robot Project - ALL DONE ALMOST

I designed a caster wheel assembly that worked pretty well. It uses a single, centered wheel instead of the two wheels you have. The two wheel assembly you are using tends to not want to turn. Anyway go to the following web site for assembly (...) (24 years ago, 7-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: 3 Robot Project - ALL DONE ALMOST

Here's three ideas ranging from easy to implement, but not terribly effective, to fairly effective, but harder to employ. You could try to characterize the amount of rotation that occurs in the robot as the caster wheel straightens out when you (...) (24 years ago, 7-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Hot diggety!! (Starts drooling) when can I get one????!!!!???? How about this? Using old blue or grey rails (non-conducting), you could have a transmitter & 8 receivers (assuming of course that the receivers'll be available separately?), one (...)   What is an RCX 2.0?

Hi folks, Apologies if this has been asked before, but I'm a little stumped. I just received a RIS 1.5 set, and inside was a yellow brick labelled RCX 2.0. I'm reasonably familiar with the RCX 1.0, and I have a 1.0 with a power jack. This one has no (...) (24 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: What is an RCX 2.0?

(...) That's interesting. (...) Neither does the RCX 1.5 (...) Yes - I think so. We aren't aware of any hardware differences between 1.5 and 2.0 and the only difference between 1.0 and 1.5 is the external power socket. (...) Exactly...and you can (...) (24 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)
