The first time I noticed the less thick black pegs was in the 8448 Superstreet sensation and in the other technic sets from the same year (8444, 8445, 8446). While I was makeing a simply fixture to mount black friction pegs in a lathe, I discovered that they come in two different wall thicknesses! Essentially, the scout and micro-scout allow you to experiment with team and cooperative robotics--as Miles said: "a higher level". I bought my 7.5 YO son a (...) Like Xanthra47 wrote, there's still room for the first shrimp that can steer :-) On this topic I have some ideas. With repect to the RCX, what use are the Droid Developer Kits (DDK) beyond their appearing limited 7 firmware programs ? I do think they are attractive to the younger lego maniacs - so I'm not slamming them. Actually I got one today for my 8 year (...) (24 years ago, 26-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)
