Thanks again. However, what I'm really after (maybe this wasn't as clear as
it should have been in my original post) is the *material* and *x-sectional
dimensions* for the LEGO pneumatic tubing. I have several sources for
different kinds of tubing, but I want to get something as near identical to the
LEGO product as I can and to do this I need to know what to order.
I posted my original question because I wondered whether there was already
someone out there who had identified the spec. for the tubing. (I'm still
wondering).

| (...) the (...) Heck, ya got me ;-) Could be rubber, extremely soft polyurethane, or any number of compounds. You'd probably have to ask someone at TLG to identify it. I just bought a few packs of tubing from S@H to make sure I had enough. I get it (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)
