  Battery Eliminator

All, I got tried of always changing batteries so I purchased a 9V Battery Eliminator from Radio Shack (273-1552) and connected it to a 9V battery box by soldering on 9v battery leads that snap on the 9V Battery Eliminator. I used a volt meter to (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Newbie questions

(...) It really depends on what you want your robot to do. A robot that needs raw speed over smooth ground will probably want some nice wide, grippy wheels - but a robot that needs to run on rougher terrain might need larger wheels. If you need (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Newbie questions

Hello! I've just gotten an RIS 1.5 set for Christmas, and was wondering what sort of drive would be best to use for my first major robot (I've completed all those in the constructopedia). Also, what do you recommend to do program-wise? Should I (...) (25 years ago, 25-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: i need help locating parts please help

(...) Hi The Exploration Mars expansion set has 4 suspension and steering parts. It's a bit expensive if that all you want from it, but it does have many other useful elements. (...) (25 years ago, 25-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: i need help locating parts please help

Hi. I don't know where you can find the whole suspension set but it seens that most pieces are very common to technic models, except for the shock absorbers and the steering pieces. You can find 1 shock absorber in set 8251 (sonic cycle). It may (...) (25 years ago, 25-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

I am looking for 2 sets of the suspension system off of 8858 mountain rambler I will be willing to pay around $5-15 per set of the suspension system. A photo of this set can be found at ((URL) Also I am looking for 6 1.25 pneumatic cylinders for a (...) (25 years ago, 24-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Tilt Sensors

(...) Also, as I mentioned in another post, legOS had a bug where it would gain or lose total counts sometimes. I don't know if the default fw is susceptable to this but I'm sure I tested it and mentioned it if you search the legOS archives from (...) (25 years ago, 23-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Tilt Sensors

(...) I made a pendulum based on a rotation sensor with some gearing but it wasn't very responsive. I got bogged down fixing bugs in the legOS rotation sensor code (since losing or adding a count meant seeking permanent TILT instead of level!). For (...)   Re: Tilt Sensors

I've built a self-leveling platform using a pendulum and light sensor approach. The response time of the pendulum is not very fast, but the platform does not move very fast either, so it works reasonably well. Details can be found here: (URL) that (...)   Re: Java and Mindstorms

You can try leJOS at (URL) It only needs a free C compiler and the Java development environment. If you get the Windows version, you do not need the C compiler. I have written a interface for leJOS commands that is available at (URL) It provides an (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)
