| Guessing you mean the wires, I've got 4 lengths, coming from the Space Shuttle and Mindstorms: 15 studs, 20.5 studs, 70 studs and 164 studs, all including the connectors (2x2's). | Martin is right, the Handspring Visor uses a different connector than the Palm devices, and so they are not directly compatible cable-wise. You can get TTL level serial comms out of the Visor by hacking the USB cable they sell. Split open the (...) (25 years ago, 21-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

| I think you're exactly correct John. There has to be very low level control of the port. The trick, I suspect, is that the control may not lie within the Palm SDK (which I suspect fully supports only IrDA), but rather with machine coding of the (...) (25 years ago, 21-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

| Something doesn't make sense to me here ..... IF someone sells a piece of software which allows the Palm to learn and speak "arbitrary remotese", then there has to be low level software control over the port. | The short answer is it doesn't really matter.....'cause none of the Palm or Handspring units really work directly with the RCX. If there is a Holy Grail to this robotics/Palm group, it would be the successful programming of the Palm IrDA port to (...) (25 years ago, 21-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.palm, lugnet.robotics)
