I have noticed this ongoing thread about the difficulties of debouncing and counting switch closures, and I must say that it is a very real problem anywhere electromechanical switches are interfaced to electronics which is orders of magnitude (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Steve, this is the third time you have helped me, and this time you obviously spent a lot of time working out the alternatives. First of all, the Wait (DELAY); in my inept code was not to flash every half second. It was to prevent additional counts (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Here's an idea you can try to have them slip a bit less. Do you have the ordinary chain links too? Then ones without the wide tread? If so use an ordinary chain link for every third link, say. One of 'em I even managed to scare twice, first when the tank entered the room and then when it actually fired a projectile :) To bad it takes almost half a minute to set the cannon horisontally, I have to (...) (...) Thanks! So do I :) (...) It's from before my dark ages, mainly the 8851 Excavator and the 8660 Arctic Rescue, I also got two with the 8843 Fork Lift truck.
