sound design (Re: 2nd RCX AND PNEUMATICS)

(...) Yes, my two also emit a rather unpleasant high-pitched sound. Personally, I tend to always use gear motors. In the beginning I used a minimotor for steering a robot, but it was very slow and jammed often. I'd say they are better for rotating (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  My simple pneumatic switch

Since this topic has come up, I would like to share my simple pneumatic switch design. It's robust, it works great, and it should be fairly obvious from the picture and description provided in the link below how it works. (URL) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: 2nd RCX AND PNEUMATICS

(...) Speaking of rattling, I recently bought the little red servo motor and that blasted thing is *loud*! Is this normal or did I get a bad model with a flaw? (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: good sets?

(...) I think it´s running out so get it while you can! ;) The catalogue inside was from 98, in the 2000 catalogue it´s only very small and not featured at all and in the online catalogue I can´t even find it. Now that I´ve assembled it I must say (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Converting the (MS)2 from 6 to 10 outputs... Aide?

I've been thinking of upgrading my (MS)2 Expander from it's current 6 ports to 10 ports. For those of you that aren't familiar with the (MS)2 Expander you can look here: (URL) the (MS)2 gives you two banks of 3 outputs. Each bank is independent and (...)   Re: buy single pneumatics, sensors, gears, etc

(...) Be aware though that some of the prices for "spare parts" are not as good as their service pack counterparts, and the Dacta "kits" are fantastically overpriced. This is especially true of anything electric. You definitely want to wait until (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  My first Lego robotics competition

Hello, I am soon going to enter my first Lego Robotics competition, and I would like some help. I guess there is no better place to go for Lego wisdom than Lugnet! I am looking for a clear explanation of how to multiplex sensors. I would like to (...) (25 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Buying the sets

  Re: 2nd RCX AND PNEUMATICS

(...) Hmm...I imagine the nature of pnuematics would make precision movement control challenging, to say the least. Hey LEGO! We want hydraulics next. :) Greg Betzel (25 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Another nice thing about the belts is that they don't rattle like the gears, in particular when you change direction often. Jürgen (25 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: good sets?

I had one problem with the Tow Truck I bought for parts, I could not scrap it! It is too nifty. It is on the shelf in a safe place waiting for a chance to build it as it was meant to be. This is the first Lego I have bought for parts that looks so (...) (25 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)
