  RE: good sets?

I had the same problem with the main model for the BarCode Multi-Set. I couldn't bear to disassemble it! Doug Wilcox Senior Web Developer iMcKesson Provider Solutions Group-Needham 160 Gould Street, Suite 130 Needham, MA 02494-2308 Phone: (...) (25 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: good sets?

I had one problem with the Tow Truck I bought for parts, I could not scrap it! It is too nifty. It is on the shelf in a safe place waiting for a chance to build it as it was meant to be. This is the first Lego I have bought for parts that looks so (...) (25 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: Two original Technic creations

Great site, and absolutely wonderful models. ::: sets fire to his own Lego collection and vows to go back to DUPLO ::: I love the numerous photographs detailing the assemblies, and the narrative text is interesting. I love reading about the process (...) (25 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

(...) I think you ought to take over set design at the LEGO Group! Jennifer, these are beautiful models, beautifully described and depicted and cleverly constructed. Thanks for taking the time to not just construct, but thoroughly describe your (...) (25 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Two original Technic creations

Hi folks, I've just put a new website online with a couple of my recent Technic creations, a "technic figure scale" skid steer loader and a mobile crane. The loader is fully operated by pneumatics and motors, and the crane by motors. I've put a lot (...) (25 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.build) !!

  RE: good sets?

This sounds excellent, they had a sellout of the 8462 for $55.5, I bought 2 (12 wheels!). I'm in need of 'basic' Technics pices (beams and axels) the wheels are pretty cool looking too and I have no pneumatics today. They also had theese set for a (...)   Re: 2nd RCX AND PNEUMATICS

(...) This generally not a problem with the motors, which can generate surprising amounts of torque particularly if geared down a lot. Rather, it is to do with the drive train tearing itself apart precisely because of this torque. You need to brace (...) (25 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: good sets?

I was going to recommend that tow truck set as well, but wasn't sure of its availability.   Re: good sets?

(...) I recently bought a sort of towing truck with pneumatics (8462 I think) which is available here in Germany in every toy store, don´t know about the US, it´s not listed in the online catalogue but then again you can find hardly anything there.   Lego robotics + macromedia director, possible?

I am wondering if anyone has attempted to interface either the RCX or the Dacta Control Lab serial box to macromedia director. I work for a company that designs science museum exhibits, and I think there are some neat things that could be done with (...) (25 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Mindstorms vision command, focus and price question

howdy, I'm about to get one...How much resistance is there in the turning of the grey ring for focus> Would a red micromotor turn it without too much grief?   Re: Lego Bulk-- a solution

(...) The trouble with that (I think) is that we all tend to want the same things. I'll bet that NOBODY wants even the bug wings they already have - let alone getting more of them! Similarly, I can't think of anything that would make me part with my (...) (25 years ago, 12-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: good sets?

The Star Wars sets are good for general parts, but not really good for robot building--at least from what I can tell. My highest recommendation for robot building expansion is the Code Pilot Bar Code Multi Set (see (URL) It contains another motor, 2 (...) (25 years ago, 12-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  good sets?

hi, I left my boxes with Legos in Denmark when I went here to California for a while. I'm building up my collection again with mindstorms and I'm (of course) having too much fun. Anyway, I only have the RIS, a few of the lod expansion kits ("sports" (...) (25 years ago, 12-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Lego Bulk-- a solution

(...) Good idea in principle but I see some difficulties with this: a) I bet there are tons of parts that everybody wants more of. If not needed for the current project, they´ll sure come in handy at some point... ;) The surplus parts will in a (...) (25 years ago, 12-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Vision Command [cables]

USB cables aren't like the old serial or parallel port cables, where not all cables had all the "optional" pins connected. USB has only 4 wires, and that's it. So a missing wire won't be your problem. USB however is picky abou t cable length, and (...) (25 years ago, 11-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Vision Command [cables]

For some time I have used a Logitec Quick Cam Pro with the Mars set and other applications for a Lego camera, Pre-Vision Command. It has about a five foot cable. I got a 10 foot extension. It was balky about installing but did eventually install and (...) (25 years ago, 11-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Lego Bulk-- a solution

Hi I have been reading this thread with great interest and I think I have come up with a possibel solution to some of the problem. What if we held swaps or had a board for trading?
